My wife is mad to do it, I find the whole thing creepy and weird. So no doubt next year there will be a creepy elf in the house. :fp:

Elf on the Shelf is an abomination that destroys my facebook feed as well, what's worse is it seems to come on the back of another thing that people on my facebook seem to have become addicted to: Dinovember. Basically parents taking pictures of toy dinosaurs that have apparently come alive each night to do crazy things in their house! So zany! :fp:

People who use foodbanks may not necessarily have the most refined palate, but I think they deserve something better to eat than toothpaste. :capnscotty:

I jest, fair play for contributing. I need to remember to drop some more stuff in during the next few shops as Christmas is a gooseberry fool time to be going without.

Bought an old (white) 3DS XL the other day along with Luigis Mansion 2, 32GB SD card and a Circle Pad Pro. Go the Disney Store to pick up some PJ's for the daughter this morning and came home with a Metallic Blue New 3DS XL and a 32GB Micro SD to use in it :fp:

Not exactly a purchase but kind of I guess ... I went to a charity shop I like where I know the staff quiet well and took them a Christmas card and put £20 in there donation pot. One of the managers asks me to wait and goes out back and comes back with a bag, says they can't sell these but thought I'd enjoy them to fix or mess with ... I get home and in the bag is a PS3 and a ps4 no wires just machines.

So far the PS3 turns on and displays correctly on screen but the ps4 doesn't turn on, put a power lead in press the power button and it does nothing, press eject and it beeps, these should keep me busy messing about in my spare time.

Yeah, get on to trading standards. I'm sure we can have these cowboys shut down for this kind of behaviour!

In case people don't get me, I love broken stuff and tinkering around with it, this stuff is like one of the best Christmas presents I could get.. I used to buy broken old computers repair them fill them with open source educational software and then donate them to local nurseries and stuf.

The PS3 is one of those 12gig super Slim's it turns out, I'm going to look for a cheap one of those caddy's it needs for a hardrive , looking forward to tinkering with it, heck if the PS4 is bust bust I can strip the hardrive out of that for it :)

Got two really nice notepads. A Rhodia one as shown below and a Moleskine one. Going to use one to keep track of my gym sessions as I really don't like using apps to track it. And another one to use as a kind of diary. The cover is like faux leather and feels really nice, the paper is silk smooth and nice to write on.
