My latest purchase

Image

Absolutely amazing, this made my day

The book is even signed by RichardUK himself  I've had a read and apparently Nottinghamshire humour involves a lot of hating on Derby and lawyers.

Top right is a wiiu gamepad stand or clip for something, although I haven't quite worked out how it works.

Yoshi will be joining my other pull-back yoshi kart on my desk at work (a different one, mind) - I'll be racing yoshis in stereo from now on!

This certainly exceeded my expectations Richard, thank you!

I wasn’t sure if you would know what the Wii U stand was, it’s so you can have the game pad flat for certain two player games, I’m pleased you liked the other stuff and you have even displayed the Union flag the correct way around :D

Wow, I've literally never noticed the UK flag has an orientation at all before. I have RichardUK to thank for this information.

No really I'm serious.

It's always funny going through unionist areas here and noticing that they have their union jack's up the wrong way.

It annoys me so much that whenever I am driving and I pass a house flying the Union flag incorrectly I have to stop and knock on their door to let them know, I would say I have to this on average twice a week

Where do you live that each week you see at least two union flags flying?

Can't even begin to imagine what you do when people refer to it as the Union Jack.

Said I was going to share some of the stuff I got in the pokemon cards, so I guess now is as good a time as any to do that.

Image

Here's what I walked away from one pre-release with (3 kits, £25 for event + 40 for additional 2 kits). This was fun but by no measure was it worth £67 and I'm not sure I'll do that again, though getting two of the promo Malamar packs was very nice.

If you're wondering, the adorable Pikachu / Mimikyu playmat underneath was £35, which is cheaper than a flight to America to buy it myself.

Image

This is what I got out of my Elite Trainer Box and Booster Box. £115 total. I didn't need or want most of the cards I got and again I'm not sure I'd rush to cough up this much again.

Image

And here's some singles I bought. I originally had a second beast energy (£12) pre-ordered but decided I didn't need this when I pulled one at pre-release. Everything here came to around £50 and I spent an additional £45 picking up two more copies of the Ultra Necrozma (gold thing in the middle) which is going to be one of the best decks in the next three months. You might notice that a bunch of the cards I ordered as singles have also been picked out in the sealed product openings. That's because these are, without doubt, the best cards in the set and I pre-ordered them after getting the boxes in order to guarantee I would have the right cards to go into tournaments and practice and whatever.

Boxes are fun and a useful insurance but ultimately I think my money is much better used on pre-orders in future.

I picked up a promo Pokemon card recently in a Toys R Us that was on the verge of shutting down, first new card i've had in over 15 years.

Exactly what I'm thinking every time I see Vermillion post in this thread. He's got some really future proof stuff.
