Tempted to get a few prints of his work but I don't know where I'd hang them, the wall I'd want them on already has a big Dali print (Apperition of face and fruit dish on a beach) on it which is too awesome to take down.

The article does go on to say that the ADL acknowledge there are plenty of harmless Pepe memes, and they're not the ones they're worried about, or listing as hate symbols.

The ADL has clarified that most Pepe memes are not racist, and that innocent versions will not be subject to the hate symbol designation.
"The mere fact of posting a Pepe meme does not mean that someone is racist or white supremacist," the group said.

So really what it boils down to is they are admitting they are morons.

They put it in their hate database or whatever, and then go on to admit that most of them are harmless, but it's the ones that are racist that are racist.

The ones where he is dressed as a Nazi, or wearing a KKK outfit are bad because he is dressed as a Nazi, or wearing a KKK outfit, it has nothing to do with Pepe himself. It's like listing all flags as a symbol of hate because some flags happen to be Nazi flags.

I don't really see how, they compile images/symbols that are used by the right commonly enough that they can be recognised as signals of abuse. The "Alt-right" neo-fascists have been powering away trying to reclaim Pepe for themselves, and using him in tonnes of Anti-Semitic meme images, and so on, enough that it's now a recognisable dog whistle. It is an image, used by the right, to racially attack people online.

I'm sure their database of hate symbols even includes the swastika, despite it's use as a peaceful religious symbol for Buddhists, and Hindus. You'd be foolish not to admit that it also has racist connotations.
