This is one of those games I am loving but I wont let myself just play it for hours and hours without stop cause I don't want to finish it quickly..

I have played 7 and a half hours so far ... annoyingly 99% on the first bit and no idea where the other 1 percent is

I got stuck on this too:
its buried. Command Oatchi to look for treasure and he'll take you there.

I think a lot of the gameplay restrictions are just arbitrary at this stage. I don't see any good reason why you should only be allowed 3 types of Pikmin.

Also the time limit per day seems very strict this time round.

Despite that I am very much enjoying this. It has enough changes to make it preferable to 3 and while Oatchi feels largely an aesthetic change so far there's a lot to the game I haven't touched yet.

I did the same,

It’s a potato that’s buried and not visible from the ground, the radar sensor thing helps find the exact spot

The lock on might be too much for me. It feels so forced and restrictive. The freedom of previous games leant itself to the chaos that made the series charming.

Also strawberry floating hell I hate it when games do this: Oatchi's dash feels fun to use to speed yourself up travelling from point A to point B and something to do to fill that dead time, especially for a time-oriented game like Pikmin. But they gave it 10 trillion years of endlag so it might be slower than just walking. It doesn't feel fluid at all. I guess they didn't want the player to spam it constantly but Idk. Just feels horrible.

They don't want you spamming it during combat or knocking down walls because it would unbalance things. Its primary functions arent to get you quicker from A to B.

I've no problem with the lock on in principle but I find the implementation to be awful. It stops me from having proper control over the aim.

That aside, after half a dozen hours I'd probably say this is the best Pikmin ever. Though the arbitrary restrictions on types of Pikmin you can have out do still piss me off.

Isn't that what the cooldown is for?

My main complaint about the night expoditions so far is that while fun, they're too easy. The third night on level 4 is the first one that I've found tricky, the change of enemy caught me off guard and it took me a few go's to figure it out. Was great when i did. I feel like this should have happened 1 or 2 levels earlier.

i didnt really want to do everything in that cave again, was only a 1 floor cave, pikmin died right at the very last thing. not much of a hassle but oh well. took the loss.

But rewinding time doesn’t have to take you back to the start

i dont use that feature enough to fully get how it works really. those noble 26 purples did not die in vein though. not unlike the 4 blues i just chucked over the edge in a cave just now while not paying attention.
