Indeed. Whilst daydreaming at work earlier I considered maybe just playing Zelda games from this point forward. Obviously that a ridiculous concept, but I am enjoying TotK so much more than anything else I have played since Disco Elysium it does make me wonder.

No, I mean when I catch up with you, you won’t be playing games any more.

Reviews

Press Start - 8.5

Planet of Lana is a profoundly moving title that couples its clever, companion-driven puzzle-solving with an irresistibly gorgeous presentation to create what is, so far, the year’s prettiest, heartrending indie.

XboxEra - 9

Planet Of Lana is a truly cinematic puzzle adventure as advertised.

The package as a whole is delivered perfectly and leaves you wanting more upon completion. With out-of-this-world visuals, music, sound and puzzle variety this really is an ‘Off-Earth Odyssey’ that you cannot afford to miss.

Developers Wishfully just delivered an indie masterpiece.

Worthplaying - 9

Planet of Lana is a pleasant surprise. It tells a compelling story with some unexpected twists, and it does so without the need to utter a word in a language we understand. The puzzles aren't obtuse enough to be frustrating, while the platforming never feels imprecise. To top it off, the presentation both looks and sounds amazing. Unless you dislike the entire genre, Planet of Lana is easily a contender for any "best of" lists this year.

Gamesradar - 4.5 out of 5

Planet of Lana is a beautiful cinematic adventure full of mystery, suspense, and charm. With stunning hand-painted backdrops, an enchanting musical score, and characters you care for, the companion-based mechanics and bond between Lana and Mui make this one very special adventure.

Gamingbolt - 9

Planet of Lana is an incredible journey. It's a down-to-earth traipse through a unique but endearing off-world setting, with tight pacing and excellent presentation underscoring a tale of camaraderie and familial devotion. Whether it's the incredible visuals or the stellar gameplay, it's worth your time.

Godisageek - 9

Planet of Lana is a wonderful puzzler with visuals that will leave you in awe, along with a stunning soundtrack and plenty of challenges.

Gameinformer - 7.75

While I would have liked gameplay to have more bite and variety, Planet of Lana is still an enjoyable and beautiful romp. The art direction and main jingle are likely the only things that will stick with me in the long run, but Lana and Mui’s journey is a competent rescue mission that doesn’t always soar as high as the machines pursuing them.

Looks quite like Far: Lone Sails/Tides, which is a very good thing.

The store has the game as not currently available, but I'm installing it via the app (4GB). Not really expecting it to run yet.

Planet of Lana is out now (at 4pm today) on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, including Xbox Game Pass for PC and console.

The highly anticipated adventure has launched to rave reviews, with EDGE praising the game for the way it “masterfully conducts the emotional highs and lows of a planetary odyssey” in its 9/10 review.

Play as Lana, accompanied by her loyal animal companion Mui, and embark on a rescue mission to save your sister. Planet of Lana blends an epic story, taking you on a spectacular journey across stunning natural landscapes, with a touching personal relationship between Lana and Mui. Expect to encounter strange creatures and dangerous machines as you move through lush forests, mysterious caves and arid desert landscapes during your journey.

The beautiful off-earth odyssey is a hand-painted puzzle-platforming adventure set in an epic sci-fi saga and will light up your screen very soon!

I came in expecting a Metroid like game after it compared to Ori but honestly it plays more like a Limbo/Inside. Not a bad thing just not what I expected. Quite enjoyed the hour or so I played of it.
