So glad I dropped Idle Thumbs and picked up Beyond. Tempted to leave the Bombcast behind now too, enjoying the Beastcast much more.

whats the beastcast?

I've started dipping into the Cane and Rinse podcast recently, mostly just games I've finished or really enjoyed. There is a massive back catalogue of them on iTunes so plenty to chose from. Not overly keen on the style (I was never a big fan of Digital Cowboys either) but the content is good.

Highly recommend Dark Calls for anyone that's a fan of Dark Souls and listened to Joypod http://spong.com/podcasts/darkcalls/
James Farley attempts to play through Dark Souls with the guidance of David Turner ... but there are rules:

Rule 1: Neither David or James can look at a walkthrough.

Rule 2: James cannot talk about Dark Souls to anyone else, on any forum or form of social media.

Rule 3: David and James aren’t allowed to talk about Dark Souls outside of the Skype calls.

It's 26 episodes in but each one is only around 25 minutes long.

East coast. It's even in their name.

I quite liked it to begin with but Austin Walker drives me mad with his pretentious, uninteresting tangents that go on for about half an hour each week.

He's one of those people who's not very clever but thinks he is. He makes observations a dimwit could make and presents them as something only an insightful NEWS EDITOR could make. His piece about the recent Time article on Plamer Luckey was cringeworthy.

He also manages to get offended at nothing and it made me laugh the other week when he said something so ridiculous that he even had to say "Alex is giving me a face like I'm reaching."

He's also incredibly fat and during the E3 podcast on one day he tore his trousers and on another day he had a huge fold of fat exposed and they had to cut to Jeff's closeup and get him to cover it before cutting back.

Another big problem with the Beastcast is that Bakkalar and Vinny are just naturally very funny people where as Alex and Austin aren't and the latter two try to jump on any jokes the former two make and kill it.

I agree with everything you've said.

Bakkalar isn't even a permanent fixture sadly. I wish Austin was on the rotating chair, rotating right out of there.

Never did I think the day would come that Alex Navarro wasn't the worst thing about one of their podcasts, yet here it is.

I've just remembered that the other week the fat turd was saying that the Arkham Knight Batgirl DLC being done by WB Montreal instead of Rocksteady because of sexism (i.e. Batgirl not being important enough therefore was given to the B team).

Embarrassing.

Yeah but he doesn't do that too often anymore.

Brad on a whole is in another stratosphere when it comes to comparing him and Austin.

I just thought of another thing that Austin does which is incredibly annoying. If he uses the phrase 'a hot second' one more time, I may lose it. Also, he refers to money as 'bank'. :fp:

My go-to podcast is always Rebel FM - for which I have been an avid listener for many years. US Gamer and Radio Radar+ also plug the gap on occasion.

Did anyone listen to that Part Time Gamer podcast with Chris Pranger (Nintendo Treehouse Localiser) on it? I know that other forums (such as Neogaf) have been losing their mind about the guy's opinions, and were glad when he got fired. But after listening to the podcast, I just thought that Mr Pranger was incredibly unlucky. It's almost like he got caught up in the PR crossfire between Nintendo and sad (butt-hurt) losers who called themselves "gamers". And to be honest, I didn't even take offence to what the guy said. A lot of what he stated made really good sense.

Chris Pranger losing his job was a win for mob rule and the inane company NDA policies set up in the aftermath of what this collective group-think tank represented... And after this, I just hope that Chris Pranger goes on to bigger and better things.

Such a senseless loss of what was ultimately a pretty good job - borne out of what was (in the end) a pretty harmless interview. But I guess hindsight truly is a wonderful thing.

Do we finally have another RebelFM listener on this board?

Gotta say, though, I'm starting to tire of the constant DOTA talk. They insist on warbling on about it for 20 minutes (or more) every week and it's like they are speaking a foreign language to me. Just have no interest in it whatsoever. It's like John Davison's mobile games corner on the old 1up Yours episodes. Like toxin for my ears.

i liked rebel fm ages ago but gave up due to Arthur being a pretentious tit.

I used to listen to it as well, until Mitch Dyer ruined it.

Same as above. I really like Anthony but Mitch drove me crazy when after any description of a video game he would say "just like in real life!". Arthur being a colossal bell end didn't help either.
