Yeah, I'm just messing about. Games like H1 and DayZ and so on have been in early access for like 60 years.

I'd love a stable DayZ on console, the idea is amazing, its a pile of wank though.

What's the appeal of this? Looks like some Battlefield/Ghost Recon clone with juddery animations and clippy graphics.

Also, who/what is Player Unknown?

Many folk enjoy the gameplay and it has an interesting premise.
In the game, up to one hundred players parachute onto an island and scavenge for weapons and equipment to kill others while avoiding getting killed themselves. The available safe area of the game's world decreases in size over a match, directing surviving players into tighter areas and forcing encounters. The last player or team standing wins the round.

The name comes from the lead developer's handle.
The game is based on previous mods that were developed by Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene for other games using the 2000 film Battle Royale for inspiration, and expanded into a standalone game under Greene's creative direction.

All the lads at work are playing this. Apart from me and the guy with a PS4.

It's a pretty big deal for Xbox I think. It's what the kids want.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Apparently it sold six million copies in four months on PC :o . It seems to be a popular game to stream, too.

For a long time, I thought this was a Battlefield spin off, purely because of the font/cover at.

The appeal of this is watching Pedz shoot his teammates.

PUBG announced Its at 8 million copies now, it really is insane how well it is selling.

Won my first solo game last night, made me realise how luck based it really is, I got 3 kills, but not one person fired a shot at me the whole game. I mean sure I played sensibly but the last guy shot the 3rd place guy, who shot the 4th place guy, so I knew where he was, and they were all on the opposite side of the circle so I just got really lucky with the final circles

It does seem to be quite a phenomenon. It'll be interesting to see how well it does on Xbox... and how long the wait will be for the game to arrive on PlayStation.

It's going to be huge on Xbox, especially with MS pushing it.

A year at least, before MS publishing it I'd say same day release when it's through Xbox Preview but this 'extended partnership' points to longer. I really hope it's not too long tho cos everyone should play this.

I bet they can do cross play with PS4 and Sony say no, Ark have it up and running and Sony said no to that too...for the players...

From a Sony perspective why would you want to go to the effort of letting people play all 3 Xbox owners ;)

Edit: Seriously though, as market leaders it's in Sony's interest not to allow crossplay with Xbox, it'd take the edge off them having the largest group of players.

The only multiplatform online game I play is PES, and no one on here plays that on Xbox anyway.

I got Chicken Dinner #4 on Friday night, but I was so drowsy from hayfever meds I can't remember it all that well and somehow nobody in the team saved any footage or a screenshot.

I've been drowsy on medication now for:
50% of my wins
100% of my wins where I'm the last man standing

I'm beginning to think there's some advantage to be had in slowing down your brain to play this.
