Microsoft must have been really desperate to have this running at 4K, game needs a resolution drop across the board.

Epic Games should stick the boot in and slash the price on all things Fortnite.

The worst thing about the framerate is it just tanks for no apparent reason. We are forgetting that this is in Preview however.

Did you even watch the video you posted? It literally says the framerate has nothing to do with the 4K resolution. :fp:

It's Early Access so yeah it's ok. Unless you don't agree with Early Access but this game has sold over 25m copies before release so your Ire should be directed at the creators of PUBG more than anyone else.

Early Access/Preview means it will get better over time. Just like The Long Dark, We Happy Few and countless other games. I don't see why it's a problem to point this out. It literally tells you this when you boot the game up.

On the Store screen for this game it says this:
Game Preview: Game is unfinished and work in progress, may change over time, and may not release as a final product. Game preview information at xbox.com/GamePreview.

To equate this to a finished game is disingenuous, I'm personally waiting for a patch before delving further in but I haven't been burned yet by any Preview game I've bought, every single one has gotten better, some significantly so.

Stuff like this wouldn't be a huge problem for an early access game usually, because it is still playable, but given the publicity this has been getting and its important as an Xbox One exclusive it really needs to be better, and soon.

It's kind of a combination especially dropping from plane calculating where the other players are etc. if they hit consistent 30fps it would change the game for me but as it is, combat is awful.

I agree with this, it has gotten HUGE publicity up to its release and I expected it to be better and you can play it. For instance if you end up with a sniper rifle or kar98 with 4x scope there's a lot of fun to be had but to not have that 'fun' level to be held consistently is annoying. When I play I get the impression its nearly there, which is even more infuriating.

Sounds like the world's most powerful console can't handle this game.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

And with Microsoft throwing their best tech resources at it, huh. If this is the best the "white glove treatment" can manage, maybe other small studios should rethink any potential publishing deal.

That was even more annoying cos Gears team only helped with Controller layout and tech team didn't do anything apart from help how to port stuff but they made it sound like it was first party support. I do think there'll be a huge push to make it better but probably not till after xmas. Wouldn't surprise me if they bring the code in house.

It looks to me that they chose a level on PC to port it to (maybe medium settings) and got it running on an Xbox One with zero optimization and no netcode specific iterations. I wonder if they had it running in Blue hole perfectly before it was online. Brendan tweeted that it was running at 45 on Xbox and 60 on Xbox One X a week before release.

It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for Microsoft being so obscure about this being a "preview".

Most of the PR was about this LAUNCHING on 12/12/2017, they seemed so desperate to have something, ANYTHING, to compensate for that Crackdown 3 release.

I wouldn't be concerned, but the fact that this has always ran like ass on anything other than a high end PC doesn't bode well for the Xbox version.

I don't think they obscured it was preview at all, they did market the s*** out of it though which is almost as bad.
