It came from a DayZ mod, then he did Arma, then H1Z1 and finally made a game from scratch.
I can't wait. The culling is awesome on X1 and that's nowhere near as good. Battle Royal format is great. Should be good, MS sent em a load of devkits and software that he said is better than what they had so should benefit PC in terms of stability going forward.

That game is dying, less than a thousand people on it these days apparently. Last update is supposed to be decent though. Can't see it coming to console, a stable DayZ would be great tho.
It is bloody brilliant, , I have mainly played this in the 4 player squad mode, we have gotten a few wins, even one as a 3, that was probably my favourite round. Honestly I have been in tears of laughter at points, and at the other end of the scale literally shaking with stress and need to take a time out just to calm down.
I wondered why it was the top seller on steam, so checked out a few streams and decided I needed to be playing it, loved it solo, but in 2s and 4s it was so much more fun (and less stressful to a point) luckily I managed to convince my crew (surprisingly easily) to pick it up, they all have loved it too
I have so many funny stories, it makes really memorable moments all the time Also the fact these get put out every week is just amazing
2 new maps and a 2D and 3D replay system coming too, all sounds fantastic, but really all I want are performance enhancements, being able to get into a car with one press of F is what I really need
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds full launch date has been pushed back to the end of 2017.
Writing on Steam, Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene announced the full launch was being pushed back from its initial six-month time-frame, which would have meant a September release.
"Over the past few months I have done a lot of interviews, and in many of them, I said we hoped to be out of Early Access six months after we first launched," he said. "I've come to realise that restricting the window to a specific month could hinder us from delivering a fully featured game and/or lead to disappointment within the community if the launch deadline is not met."
PlayerUnknown emphasised the reason for this delay is because the team wishes to deliver a "fully realised and polished Battle Royale experience". However, there will continue to be weekly and monthly updates until full release to improve game performance.
It is likely this delay will see the Xbox One release of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds pushed back also.
