So, time to discuss, what are your best memories of the PlayStation? I you really can't remember, maybe these will jog your memory...

I was very fond of Spyro The Dragon before Insomniac stopped making the games. Good, lengthy adventures, entertaining characters (Moneybags was great) and some varied gameplay. Number 3 remains in my top 5 PS1 games.

Crash Bandicoot's winning the poll so far! 8-)

I've recently added a few more games to my collection, with the highlight being Kurushi. I haven't played much of it though as my memory card doesn't have enough blocks.

I also bought Crash 2, which was brilliant. I had recently played the original and managed to 100% so I just had to get the second, which I managed to 100% also. Now I just need to buy Crash 3 and Team Racing and have a go at 100%ing them! :D

Also, does anyone else have the neGcon controller? I bought one last year, but only finally got round to trying it out a few days ago in Rage Racer. I have to say it's a great controller and is a better alternative to racing games that don't have analogue support.

Too many great games too mention and so many happy memories of this console. Tomb Raider was the first game I played on it and it blew me away when I tried it on my mates and got one straight away. V-Rally was first game I owned with Track and Field, Reloaded, Onside Soccer and some others I cant remember

Rather regrettably as my mates got playstations i got the sega saturn around that time, even the electronics boutique staff told me not to get the saturn, but by then i had to have daytona usa on a home console because i played it so much in the arcades!

By the time i traded in my saturn and got a playstation there was a constant flow of quality games like resident evil, gran turismo and ofcourse final fantasy 7, which i all experienced.

It was an awesome console, one that really came out of nowhere really and made gaming cool, for that we owe it alot, and even though the ps2 surpassed it the console was magnificent for its day.

Sony really marketed the PlayStation well, without it gaming may still be considered as a hobby that's purely for children.

I loved the RE2 demo. I remember getting a huge fright when the zombies crashed through the window in the shop. I was only 8 or so at the time!

This is another game I'll need to get. I do have the original, but I don't really feel like playing it though. :(

Favourite game on the Playstation was undoubtedly Tomb Raider.

I had a SNES up until I got the Playstation and when I finally played Tomb Raider I was blown away.

Has to be FFVII for me. Probably has not stood the test of time that well, but back then it blew me away. I was at a house party the other day, and the Taxi call back service rang on my mobile, initiating my "surf chocobo" ringtone. Was suprised how many people i did not know very well started talking about FFVII to me. Which was a shame, as my taxi was waiting for me...

For me it was the original gran turismo, i could not believe the graphics in the replays and spent hours of replaying races over and over again to get that elusive toyota supra gt!

For me it was genre defining, it had absolutely everything and made ridge racer look like a demo of a demo!

Did the Dual Shock not come out similtaneously with it? I remember picking both up at my local WH Smith

Yeah i think so, it also made the game even better! :D

The tracks from the first two really were splendid, its a shame that the two sequels did not have such imagination and went to the simulator direction, but should also have given us more original exciting circuits.

Remember playing the demo when I had a Saturn and couldn't believe how immersive it was!

It did add a hell of a lot to the game for me, seemed so revolutionary back then (not owning an N64 at the time).
