My old PS2 pad eventually lost the "crispness" in the left analogue stick. Same things happened in my 1st 360 pad. It's take a long time and a lot of play. It's a shame that you end up with a pad that's pretty much fine in every way, just one worn part means a new pad.

I guess it will eventually happen to my PS3 pad. I'll never know on my 1st PS3 DS pad as the dog ate the rubber off the left stick an chewed the plastic underneath slightly. It's not too bad so I've keep it as a spare.

Dunno about those but my TWO 360 controllers have gotten a bit wonky. The y button on one sticks while the A button on the other sticks too. I think it could be just a tea related issue but dunno how to fix it without water! :fp:

Open them up and give them a clean.

<]:^D, have you opened a 360 pad before, do you have any advice?

I've got the Torx set that's needed, got all the screws out, but couldn't split the controller halves, without using a force I reckoned would break it so I gave up. My pad has a LB that won't click in when pressed

Dualshocks are pretty robust, but whenever I play a Playstation (2 or even recently on a Sixaxis) people always seem to have ripped the rubber off the top of the sticks leaving a plastic grip.

My brother does that. I have no idea why.
