For a poll of my own it's just impossible to decide.

Dreamcast - The most excited I have ever been about a console launch,Shenmue is the most engrossed I've ever been in a game

PlayStation 2 - My most played of the bunch, the hours spent on PES

Xbox - Wasn't a huge fan, but playing Halo online was a once in a lifetime experience

Gamecube - The most charming console ever made

PS2 easily. Gamecube had fantastic games but PS2's huge library counts for a lot and the number of top quality games has to exceed GC's.

Apart from PES I got bored of PS2 pretty quickly once MGS2, Devil May Cry and Vice City had been completed.

PlayStation 2. Had a catalogue of games like no other, & was also the first time I'd experienced DVD in the home.

I did however favour the first 3 years of the machine's life. I thought the second half of 2001 & 2002 was absolutely amazing. GT3, GTA III & Vice City, two of the best platformers of that era in Jack & Daxter & Ratchet & Clank, Burnout 2, Ico, The Getaway (despite not quite living up to the hype, the technical achievement of being able to drive around Central London was still something very exciting), the arrival of next gen PES, Timesplitters 2, Metal Gear Solid 2...

In regards to Xbox, which I think I got in 2003; Halo began my long apathy for the franchise, but PGR was a triumph & Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee was a monumental turn up for the books. Blinx & WWF RAW were both epic disappointments. Splinter Cell, accompanied with the new controller S, then ended up being my favourite games on the system. A perfect showcase of Xbox.

Had a Gamecube, but never really gave it a fair shot (5 games in total!) because by that point trying to get through 3 systems was proving rather problematic, & it was the GC that fell by the wayside. Had some good times with the bongos, mind...

Pretty much the same experience I had, swap Halo and Splinet Cell around though.

Gamecube. The only one of them I owned myself. Both my brothers had Xboxes, my elder brother bought one at launch with PGR  but later sold it. My younger brother later got one as well, and I bought a lot of games for it myself (Halo 2, KOTOR 1&2, Jade Empire, Morrowind etc).

Had more games for the Gamecube, and they were mostly as good (or in rare examples better). So Gamecube by default, then. :P

PS2 is clearly the winner here.

As good as the others are (though anyone voting Dreamcast is clearly on crack), none of them can match the breadth and depth of the PS2 back catalogue.

From Gitaroo Man, Amplitude and Guitar Hero, through Devil May Cry, God of War, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Yakuza, Metal Gear Solid, ICO, SOTC, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Virtua Fighter to stuff like Katamari, Disgaea, Gregory Horror Show, Gradius, R-Type and Transformers.

You could probably name more under appreciated classics on PS2, than on the other 3 platforms combined.

Wel the online experience on Halo 2 and PGR2 were beyond anything on the rival consoles.

Ps2 easily wins due to the massive back catalogue of gooseberry fool hot games, but its the gamecube I look back at more fondly.

Ties between GC & PS2 for me. GC has far more quality titles, whereabouts PS2 has excellent library of games. I love both equally & can't pick one over another. I love Dreamcast too, but I don't play it much as PS2/GC and XBox, for me, has been nothing more than console PC but still fond of it because I get to play Knights of the Old Republic, one of my favourite games alongside Halo 1&Fable.
