Well it's lasted me over 4 years, so I'm not going to grumble. There were periods when it was constantly on for days on end, I've certainly got my money's worth from the old girl.

Dawned on me the other day my launch day PS4 has almost lasted 5 years. It's not bad considering. Probably full of dust, mind, I should probably give it a clear out.

My launch day PS3 and PS4 are both still going.
Neither have ever been cleaned out mind so I probably should...
On my 4th 360 though.

The disc drive in my 60GB PS3 broke shortly after I gave it to my big brother and my launch day PS3 slim broke a few weeks after I sold it to my mate (he later traded it in to GAME and they didn't check it
)

So does anyone know if you can transfer the data on a dead PS4 into a new one? Can that be done?

Don't think as the HDD will also format once installed in another PS4. If you have Plus then at least your save files are all backed up

My launch console was on its way out so I traded it in to Cex and picked up a slim PS4 bundle from HMV.

Mine works but it sounds like the space shuttle taking off. It’s been loud for a couple of years though so hopefully it’ll last a few more years.

I'm such a strawberry floating idiot, I'd only gone and unplugged my PS4's HDMI cable the other day and forgot to plug it back in, strawberry floating thing was hanging there behind my tv laughing at me

Oh dear!
At least it's that and not worst case scenario! Make sure to back up your saves though, can always go month of ps+ if you want (wish cloud saves aren't behind pay wall though)

There still remains the potential issue of the grindy disc slot (oo-er), but I'm hoping all of the hard resetting I did sorted that. At least I've saved myself £350 for the time being. Do still quite fancy a Pro though...
