For some reason this has gone down really badly on the Eurogamer comments...because the games can be purchased cheaper second hand or while on promotion, which seems like a strange comparison to make: https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018 ... e=comments

Checking Amazon quickly...

Uncharted 4: £19.99
The Last of Us: £21.49
Mortal Kombat XL: £16.29
Need for Speed Rivals: £16.57
Yakuza Zero: £24.99
Ratchet and Clank: £16.43
UFC 2: £15.95
Rayman Legends: £11.99

Playstation Now is looking like something to consider in the future.

few days ago an image popped up on Reddit that seemed to show an option to download a game that was streaming from PlayStation Now. There was no other evidence to back up the image but now Kotaku have spoken to an “industry source” who has said that full game downloads will be coming to the PlayStation Now streaming service this September.

The download option will only be available for PlayStation 4 games initially and you will be be able to play offline. As long as you have an active PlayStation Now subscription you will be able to play the games.

If this information is correct it does make PlayStation Now a more tempting offer. PS Now has considerably more games than the Xbox Games Pass, over 300 at the last count, but Xbox Owners get first party games free as part of their pass, will Sony follow suit?

I’m not sure that they will, there’s no reason to as they are market leader and PS exclusives always go to the top the charts, and there are far more them at present. Perhaps Sony will add a Premium tier to PS Now, jacking up the price a little but allowing day one access to the exclusives.

And what happens to the downloaded games if you let the subscription expire?

I imagine you have to delete them or resub to get access back, like with ps plus games.

What puts me off PS Now, aside from the price, is that I refuse to play games at a worse resolution and in an inferior manner than what is available to me on the platform. It’s the same thing that stops me from paying for Sky Cinema on NowTV. Being able to download them would be a massive improvement.

I recently picked up a cheap PSVR bundle and thought it might be useful to get a PS4 to go with it. :slol:

I've no idea on the going-rate though - is this decent?

PS4 Slim 500GB
Singstar Celebration (PlayLink)
Hidden Agenda (PlayLink)
That's You (PlayLink)
Titalfall 2
No Man's Sky
Ratchet & Clank
Wipeout Omega Collection
Shadow of the Colossus
Doom
Dishonored 2

£284.96

I don't know what the PlayLink stuff is but it comes free with it so I'd probably just flog it to CEX.

Anything else I'm missing that I'd need?

Cool, ta. Is it worth £60 more for a 1TB console?

You can replace the hard drive yourself (it's piss easy to do), a 2TB HDD would cost you similar to the extra for a 1TB console, so I would buy the cheaper PS4 and a replacement 2TB HDD.

You can also just hook up an eternal HDD.

Absolutely. When the PS4 launched and an external drive wasn't an option, I changed the drive in my console. When I got my Pro and the external hard drive became possible, it was so easy to just plug in a large external drive.

With all those games that's a brilliant deal

Where was that from?

I'd say you "need" God of War, Bloodborne, The Last Guardian, Until Dawn (If you like that sort of thing), Horizon Zero Dawn.

Grabbed Gravity Rush 2 today because I saw a second hand copy for £12 , havent played much on my PS4 but I did love the first one on Vita so this might inspire me to boot the PS4 up soon.... Just want to finish a few other things first.

Note that the playlink stuff is almost certainly digital downloads only and you may not be able to sell them. They are the games that link to people's phones. Not very highly rated, even though Hidden Agenda could have been great.

Okay thanks Poser, didn't realise that. Sounds shite, but as it's free it's no big deal.

Ordered it over the weekend - it's from ShopTo for those interested. The games you get aren't fixed, but you only have a smallish selection to choose from.

This arrived today :toot:

The Singstar, Hidden Agenda and That's You games are actually hard copies. Looked on CEX's website and I'd get a grand total of £2.70 for all 3, so it's not even worth the effort of going to the shop to offload them. :fp:

I've no experience of PS4 at all, so is there anything I should be getting like a controller charging dock or other accesories? As I said it's mainly for VR, so wondered whether the Move controllers and maybe Farpoint are worth it? (not sure I fancy another plastic peripheral hanging around though - is the controller good?)
