Looks like Amazon UK jumped the gun on their pre orders and put them up over night instead of 10am, meaning they were already sold out by 9am.

Up on eBay with actual bids hovering around the £500-£600 mark already. Another nice money earner for the Del Boy's.

I don't really like how that looks tbh, I prefer the matte black with gloss faceplate of the original.

I quite like the look of it. Tried this morning on the usual sites but all sold out. Did manage to get one from Very though in a brief window when they had stock.

Personally I prefer matte plastics to glossy. My dream would be a matte, translucent (crystal) PS4 Pro as per the original Xbox .

I guess it's technically possible, Peter, although it'd be quite some job. A quick search and I can't trace many companies selling replacements. You could buy replacement covers for the "glossy" part of the original PS4 console!

It just seems like it should be a thing we can do.
No sensible person buys an entire new console just for a new look but if it were possible to just clip off the case and plonk on a new version I'm sure they would sell loads.

Nintendo tried replacement clip-on console covers with the New Nintendo 3DS and it seemed pretty popular; particularly in Japan. Of course, Nintendo never made the covers widely available and swiftly stopped making that model of the console, obvs .

Nice one. The one per customer thing is sensible.

Even with the big HDD, it feels like strong money for a console that's surely going to be superseded within a couple of years.

This takes the piss. I managed to get one and they strawberry floating cancelled it. I doubt i will be able to pick it up again. What a joke. Surely they should have just cancelled people with multiple orders?

Shenmue won’t be completed for a good while and I need to celebrate sonys achievement.

Sold out in less than a minute.

I also signed up to email alerts just to see, and received nothing.

Looking on social media, a number of people could only order the machine on Amazon if they also selected an extended warranty.
