Sheeeee-it looks like I might have to try and replay some games on the Pro (and actually finish Horizon + it's DLC) as we are getting a 4k tv tomorrow thanks to my current TV strawberry floating up. Just a Povo LG one though but I'm sure I'll see a difference somewhere..

Yeah, Horizon was already one of the best looking games I have played but in 4K with HDR it's something else now I actually want to go through Uncharted 4 again and actually finish DLC.

Definitely. It just looks so lush, it actually managed to keep me off The Division last night and I even snuck a quick 30 mins in this morning before work on HZD

Finally got round to playing the Forgotton Anne CD that came with OPM a couple months back and as soon as I stuck it in the PS4 I remembered it doesn't play music CDs! Then I realised my computer doesn't have a disc drive either, so in the end I used the PS1.

The best thing about the PS1 is that not only does it have sound effects to make it seem like you're listening to AC/DC...IN A CHURCH...later models have fancy pants GRAPHICS like you used to get on Windows Media Player.

The PS4 media player plays far fewer video formats than on PS3, too.

What's that about? My Sony TV plays all of my videos, unlike the PS4.

Sony are a movie studio, I would imagine they don’t like people watching downloaded movies.

I am actually surprised that they allow any video files to be played.

I get that, I mean, who would do such a thing! Obviously 'my videos' are ones created by me, I just happen to use a lot of file formats.

But it's the inconsistency across current platforms that seems odd.

Sony just hasn't got the money to splash out on hyper-expensive new technology advances such as being able to play a compact disc.

I tried to play an MP4 and the PS4 Pro for whatever reason couldn’t handle it (like trying to play a video without the RAM or graphical power to pull it off). Plugged it directly into my 4K TV from Sony however and it worked fine.

PS3 was painless with everything I threw at it. The original 60GB was even better with its memory card support.

Xbox One kicks their arse when it comes to media these days.
