There's no back handed insult in there so it's not mine.

System software update 5.50 is being rolled out today. It includes a "super-sampling" mode for Pro owners.

Could be a nice feature for non 4K owners.

Yes?

As well as hiding games in the library and allowing custom backgrounds.

Anyone else played the bonus episode of Before The Storm? It's only a short extra, but is really enjoyable, and contains a very emotional farewell to the characters.

Not a Pro owner, but I thought this was already available as standard? Or was it always billed as a future thing?

I'm trying to finish Ep 3 but it's draining to play this and Ep 2 back to back. I've heard it's quite short but a nice send off for the fans.

Out of curiosity, no point enabling that option if you have a 4k tv right?

I'm right in thinking it's to benefit 1080p owners and below isn't it?

Nothing will go wrong with this functionality... :dread: . With images from USB sticks allowed to be used, you can only imagine the kinda setups some folk will use :) .

Yeah, it was spoken of - and a "boost processing option" has been available for a while - but this is a fresh addition. And, Kj, yeah - this new option is for Pro owners using a Full HD (1080p) display.

I have. I thought it was really good. Really crushing at the same time though. Glad I picked up the deluxe package as, although short, it gave great closure to the story.

Other than GT Sport's sorry launch Sony's first party output has been superb this generation, with God of War, Spiderman, Dreams, Ghost of Tsushima, Last of Us 2 and Death Stranding still to come I think PS4's final two years will be it's best.

Sony have too many strong first and second party titles and its hard to see how anyone will top them next generation. I would prefer sony do away with the numbers and simply call it PlayStation. My hopes are for a single system generation - having multiple systems in the market is unnecessary imo and Microsoft should do the honourable thing and drop the xbox line.

Absolutely the worst thing that could happen for PlayStation

I believe Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft all have distinct visions for what gaming should be, they keep each other on their toes and all innovate in ways that their competitors can't.

Microsoft need to sort their gooseberry fool out when it comes to first party studios, but other than that I'm very happy with the status quo.

Has anyone given Late Shift a go? It’s a live-action interactive movie. I briefly played something similar on the PS1 (X-Files) and it was bloody awful but Late Shift does actually look semi decent (almost 5/5 from players), with production values as good as a genuine movie.

It’s just shy of £10 on the PSN.

There’s another similar game on the PSN called The Bunker, partially penned by those on Broken Sword amongst others. More expensive at £15 though.
