I have it on digital and it still kicks the fans up like crazy on my Pro and that recently got cleaned with removing the top to get at the fan. Hasn't made a blind but of difference.

I have I think 37 games on disc on PS4, so yes I use eject quite a lot

The annoying thing is that being an early PS4 it has capacitive/touch buttons as opposed to actual buttons, so when dusting it is very easy to accidentally hit the power button and turn it on. It's the biggest flaw in what is otherwise a wonderfully designed console.

Sure, Orange - but the hot issue is whether you press the eject button or select disc eject using your pad?

I normally use the button on the console as I'm crouched down there to put the soon-to-be-ejected disc back in its box anyway.

I have made the occasional slip up of pressing the power button instead of eject on the PS4 Pro, because for some reason the power button is to the left and underneath the disc drive.

I've got a standard PS4 and I regularly use the eject button, can't say I've ever had any issues with it. I usually power off through the menu though, although sometimes I hold down the power button to activate rest mode.

Always the eject button, I'm not sure why remote ejection is even a thing considering you have to go to the console to get the disc anyway

Well I guess the rationale is that some people have servants that can stand by the PS4 24/7 ready to grab the ejecting disc whenever their master tires of his current game. Perfectly understandable, really.

I consider the eject button on the original PS4 to be like a clitoris. I know it's there, I know the approximate area it's supposed to be in but I'm damned if I can find it.

Does someone need to do a diagram for you?

You have to lick it to make it respond properly.

Oh well. So much for that idea. (I even searched for Pro on various online retail sites. Trust Game to be one of the few to have stock.)

Completed chapter 1 one yesterday and either the OG PS4 took it in its stride, or I was so *into the game* that I didn't notice it shifting into take off mode. Either way is good for me.

Ta for the info, Garly!

Get the PlayStations Gold headset, load the GoW profile and you won't hear a peep from your PS4. "Boy" sounds so good through them :datass:

Would have bought it on release if not for my experience of the older version of the Gold. (Namely that there wasn't enough support as regards game profiles and that the front facing material on the headband came loose.) And still I'm tempted because "3D sound". :fp:

Just to add a second confirmation, the game made my PS4 Pro sound like a jet about to take off too.

Although I can say that even though it does this, it does look amazing in 4K.

Cheers dude.

Yeah, I'm playing on a 1080p and some of the scenes are blowing my mind (like when they're looking out on the glowing trees), so I can only imagine how much crisper, richer and brighter it all looks in 4K HDR.
PS5 better be backward compatible out of the box  :x (So I can go back and play some of these PS4 games in 4K.)

Tried that and now I'm writing this post with my tongue stuck to the PS4. Please help.

I've mentioned it before, but I often find the price disparity between a digital download on PSN and its retail disk equivalent quite staggering. Yesterday I decided to get World of Final Fantasy after playing about with the demo and becoming enchanted with the gorgeous visual presentation of the game. I checked PSN. £49.99. Next, I went on to Amazon. Very first result? £18 (new).

How does Sony justify the £50 digital download price? I have never been able to work this out.

That’s my only real fear with the coming download only future. Console manufacturers will be able to charge whatever they like on their marketplaces and we will not be able to get them cheaper elsewhere.

Hopefully US/EU competition laws will kick in and force them to open up their digital marketplaces to other retailers.
