That looks a bit console-shaped :o . I shall be massively pi**ed-off if Sony has updated the Pro already.

Probably. That 'gearing up' wording could be the clue there.

It's the Pro Plus :slol:

Yeah would definitely be a kick in the teeth to those who already own Pro's.

I think that's a pretty good shout. "Geared up" does sound like a car-related clue. Metal Gear Solid would be another one, but there's nothing interesting on the horizon there.

Hopefully it'll come with a pad that doesn't look like it was designed by the intern.

The DS4 is ok when you get used to it.

I saw the Pro in the window of GAME and it's a pretty ugly, bloated monstrosity of a machine. It does need glossing up, so maybe they've done something nice with it, if not its bulk. Packaging Gran Turismo with a Limited Edition Slim however would be completely arse-backwards for a game that is built around its graphical prowess. 'Here's a Gran Turismo themed PS4...but it's better on a standard looking Pro'. That would be a 'You're all strawberry floating idiots' boardroom meeting.

I wouldn't mind a slimmed down Pro but another hardware revision would be bloody stupid.
One mid-gen hardware revision is bad enough but can be kind of justified if the generations are going to be 6 years minimum but any more than that and even the people defending the mid-gen refresh idea start to lose the ability to justify the expense.
I have a PS4 and Pro and have an OX (although I don't own an Xbox One) on order but that's it for me this gen and the lack of seeming effort by Sony to support the Pro makes me think any Pro+ will be even less supported.

I'd rather they concentrated on supporting the PSVR and left console hardware announcements for a year or so.

If it was a slim Pro I'd be rather interested in seeing just how slim they can make it as maybe they'll go with the more expensive cooling option or maybe they've found a way to make it more power efficient. I won't need to buy it but it'll be interesting to see how much effort the engineers have put in.

I can see a lot of people really losing sleep over a ProPlus edition.

Serves them right for buying a Pro in the first place.

That’s not all though – we have more bundles available to suit every player which all come with a standard copy of Gran Turismo Sport on Blu-ray disc*:

Jet Black PS4 1 TB edition
Jet Black PS4 500GB edition
Jet Black PS4 1TB + extra Jet Black DUALSHOCK 4 edition
Jet Black PS4 Pro edition

What seems to be confusing everyone in the comments who want a Pro version is that Sony appear to have named the console "Jet black"...despite it being, you know, not black.

But... the Pro version is black, isn't it? I think it's only one model (slim, 1Tb) that had the silver top casing?
