Would anyone know how I could resolve this incredible PS4 tech mystery?

> ..but it never does with my Nintendo Switch

The switcher changes automatically depending on what's on; there is also a manual button. Neither method resolves the problem with the PS4 display. Yet my Switch can run fine with it.

Anyone else got a HDMI switcher and experienced this?

FAKE EDIT: Just realised that it *could* be the Switch... maybe sending out a signal for a split second whilst I'm using the PS4? Perhaps I should take out the Switch HDMI lead and test it...

Could just be cross interference from one of the sources. Have you tried swapping the cables around as the order can make a difference ie which one the hdmi box will rank to power.Could also be a lack of juice if your switcher doesn't have a power supply of its own. My Pro gives an intermittent blank screen on my splitter box with no power source but normal PS4 worked fine

I've got one. Bought to use for the same systems but haven't actually played on my PS4 for a while. I'll maybe try and get a game or 3 in of Titanfall 2 and see if it happens on mine. Switch in use with it hasn't had any problems.

Yup happens on mine. Started going crazy so just switched the PS4 with the Virgin Media Tevo box which will have to do now.

I had a similar issue but with my PC and the Switch.

Not sure how I fixed it but its not happening any more.

EDIT - I did buy a new HDMI switch box, but I can't remember if that's what fixed it or if it was already working before that. Might be worth swapping around the inputs on the box to see if that makes any difference.

Thanks, chaps - I think I'll spend this evening plugging HDMI cables in and out, whilst powering consoles on and off and switching screens now and again, to try and get to the bottom of it. I'll report back with findings :toot: .

The switch can take over your tv and turn it on and stuff. Think it can maybe interfere with other sources.

When I tested mine and it started blacking out on and off when I had the PS4 on I noticed the LED on the HDMI switch box flashing for #2 which is what the N Switch is plugged in to.

It's the Nintendo switch I get the same issue and so does a friend we both have Samsung TVs.
I'm also using a 3 way hdmi switch but never had the issue before i got the Nintendo switch.

My PS4 is in HDMI1 directly. My Switch is part of a 3 way HDMI switch on HDMI3. Occasionally whilst on PS4, I notice a blue light appear behind the tv on the HDMI switch and I believe this is the Switch console briefly waking up. It never switches the TV over though as that functionality doesn't work when using the HDMI switch

Seeing TloU on offer at £16 when I've just chucked £20 at it on eBay makes me feel happy.

Had the same problem with a few switchers. Bought the following and not had the problem since.

Jim Sterling has been talking for a while now about the downfall of the PSN Store. They were even actively promoting stuff like Life of Black Tiger on their official YouTube channel.

Welp. Turns out that, imo, OG PS4 > Slim.

Slim looks lovely but the irregular skittering HDD access noise (which can be heard even when watching streaming apps like Netflix) is just too much for me to put up with whilst I'm trying to nod off. So family gets Slim, and I'm back to using the superior OG and its louder but nowhere near as annoying fan noise.

I use this Maxtor 2Tb USB-powered hard drive with my PS4, Floex, and it has worked fine. I use the 1Tb version with my Wii U and that has been reliable, too. With my Pro I use this Seagate 4Tb USB-powered hard drive and it seems to be cool. Seagate and Maxtor are the same brand.

Cheers Jawa, that top drive looks ideal for the price.
