We all know how super awesome Amazon are with their faulty console returns. But how are they when something goes wrong with a component of a console bundle? Will they want the whole thing back, or will I get away with sending just the pad in?

My heavy handedness + DIII RoS = R2 hinge is loose :(

It still works but now causes false presses where I take finger off trigger but it remains pressed. I can get it to stopp being pressed but y'know, it's still broken. I do have another pad but would rather not have to send the whole bundle off. Which if Amazon won't agree to means... I have to deal with Sony customer services.

The maintenance that was supposed to happen on Monday is happening tonight.

But on-line play is working, so I'm happy...

Just left Amazon chat and... I'm getting a brand new pad for nothing (they'll deduct the cost off original PS4 order). And I get to keep the old one.

At first they said I should deal with Sony (which I kind of expected them to say). I told them Sony would replace it but their customer service was awful compared to Amazon, that I'd be on hold for 20 minutes before even speaking to anyone and to top it all off I'd have to pay the postage (which is what I was told when I called them about the peeling rubber). He asked me to hold the line and then came back with the amazing news of a free pad. He even found the correct sold by Amazon link for me.

Yup

Gonna try and get the broken one fixed and pass it on. Will call Sony up and all but beg them to cover postage costs.

Mine should come tomorrow. Is the cloud save stuff pretty seamless?

Nope.

For starters, most of my stuff wasn't going to the cloud storage because of a bug with NBA2K14 that made it create a new save every time I did something in the game. So my storage was full for months and I had no way of knowing. So I had to manually upload every save, one game at a time, then download them in the same fashion. But it won't let you download saves for games you haven't got installed, so I have to wait for everything to finish before I can dedicate 20 minutes or so to downloading all the saves.

You're god damned right. :datass:

Just thinking if I need my ps3 any more. The mrs has one anyway so there's that, plus I've got my 360 and vita to fall back on.

TBH, I've found it hard to go back (to the PS3, that is. Not your Mrs. She's always welcoming.)

I still use my PS3 for Netflix (convenience of remote) and have been tucking into the feast of PSN+ stuff on it. I think though that the PS3 will soon become just a Netflix player - I have TLOU waiting on the PS4 once I've completed evil run through on inFamous, Diablo 3 should arrive in next couple of days followed closely by Destiny. I think we've reached the point where PS4 has games.

 That's safe to say. It's strawberry floating sod's law from my own personal point of view. I really want Diablo but can't justify the purchase at the moment. It's going to be all about Destiny for me for a while now.

Yes, it will probably get expensive to be a PS4 owner. Fortunately I had shitload of clubcard vouchers which I boosted to get Diablo, Destiny and a 2nd controller for nothing. Had it not been for them, I'd probably have not "bought" anything until I was done with TLOU. Really looking forward to Diablo though, remember playing either the original or 2 on the PC (at work  ) many years ago and this version has picked up really good reviews.

I've made the amazing decision to move house next Friday, and my broadband won't be installed until two weeks later. So that's like a week and a half I'll have Destiny with no way to get online.
