The one PS4 Beta I don't get in

So boost mode is a thing! No idea why Sony are keeping quiet about this, maybe they want to make sure it's not breaking many games. And it's not just fps it fixes

It improves framerate, screen tearing, dynamic resolution, load times and apparently texture streaming issues as some have reported.

Load times for Witcher are supposed to be twice as fast.

Urge to buy rising....

Goddamit, Sony. I had the strawberry floating funds for a console set aside, then Nintendo go and drop the ball and I agree to put the money toward something else. And then you decide to release this patch?! Ugh. If not for my WoW habit flaring up again, I'd be having the most tedious row about money right now.

There's usually two waves of invite codes sent out. I got in on second one last time around.

The way they deal with the Beta is ridiculous, you should just be able to try it any time its running.

Just ordered Trials Fusion for my nephew for his birthday, after getting him Rocket League for Christmas. Thanks to whomever recommended me those games a few months back

I just find it so bizarre that most of the PS4 AAA games are 16+ or 18+...

What games do kids play these days? Why do games developers have to make their games so bloody, violent and full of swearing?

Boost mode sounds great. Is there a release date for this firmware update yet?

my HD was way past full and didn't really want to go down the somewhat longwinded Sony upgrade route. so ordered one of these from Amazon (£66 with Prime) an hour ago and its just arrived.

Am I understanding the external HDD option correctly? We can install and launch games, apps, etc directly from the external drive, we don't have to move it to PS4's internal HDD first?

Sleeping Dogs DE runs much better in Pro Boost mode, no shitty frame rate drops while driving.

You can launch and play from external, yes.

I mean really what would be the point otherwise. I saw some pictures where you can choose which drive to launch from.

I live about 10 miles from the depot, but it's more or less in a straight (dual carriageway'ish) line and the roads not so buzzy on a Sunday morning. it's good how the Prime App even shows your item in transit on a Google-type map and even has the drivers name.

Did you ever notice fps drops when driving etc, that is if you've played SD on PS4/Xbone? There are people on here who say it doesn't when it really does drop to gooseberry fool. It's one you should try if you own both a Pro and a copy of Sleeping Dogs, maybe not so much in the vid but playing it you can't help but notice it which is exactly what happened when recording with Boost on and off this morning.

Very noticeable around the 1:10 mark.

nope, not noticeable at all.

as for those that say it doesn't really drop, it may well drop. but I'd agree with them, not noticeable to me. Damn, Sony spent all that money making games better and it's wasted on me

Have Sony confirmed the PS4 Pro Boost Mode yet? Also, how do I get onto this Beta malarkey?
