It'll be interesting to see where Sony prices this set at. If they stick wth the £349.99 mark I wonder if folk will perceive the increased power of the XBO-X as offering better value? If, due to the Destiny 2 game inclusion, Sony raises the price... well, I could see the X becoming significantly more attractive.

In terms of the the standard black Pro, it will definitely be £299.99 and under throughout the holiday season, even if Sony themselves don't officially announce a price cut.
I gues this puts paid to a hardware revision of the Pro though this year, which looks rather bloated next to the X.

I think you're right, £199 for the standard and £299 for the pro would shift a lot of units around Christmas

Sony really needs to get to grips with promoting the Pro. There isn't any clear messaging about what it offers to gamers... and this is probably because it really isn't that clear how most games are using the extra power. It feels like Sony is being uncharactaristically quiet.. and, in five months time, that extra power message will be lost due to the noise surrounding the XBO-X.
C'mon, Sony - you need to start utilising that power and talking about it! And not just for the 4K niche sector of the market, but for the larger 1080p market too!

Sony should bundle Rise of the Tomb Raider with every Pro. It's the best example of showing what the Pro can do as you can toggle different modes in the setting menu and see the differences right away, even on a 1080p TV (what I use).
I never really thought the whole down-sampling 4K to 1080p did much until I played Rise of the Tomb Raider and toggled between the 3 different modes it offers. Sticking it in 4K mode when on a 1080p, you suddenly see all the jaggies vanish, it was night and day.

I was going to get a Pro, but there's a Prime deal today with a 500gb Slim, an extra controller, Crash and Overwatch for £180 (maybe £170 with STUDENT10)- so I might just take the plunge with this one instead.

Figured the Pro is overkill as my TV only does 720p, and I can always upgrade later on
