PS4 is selling faster than PS3 did there.

Very well, it turns out. This week marks the PlayStation 4 hitting 4.5 million units in sales in Japan- launch aligned, it is doing far better than the PS3. With Japanese support for the PS4 showing no signs of relenting, this can only bode good things for the system’s future in the region. Conversely, fans of Japanese games can be assured that their PS4s will be supported with games for a very long time to come.

The one black mark in this good news is the performance of the PS4 Pro- the console has simply failed to move the needle in Japan, and its sales are only 200,000- less than 5% of total PS4 sales in the country.

Oh wait, those were weekly numbers? Well, I guess that's kind of better. Still not exactly great, though.

S: Neither was the last one. It was a robbery. M: Really? S: Yeah. She stole my heart. And my crown. (❍ᴥ❍ʋ)

I hesitate to recall the occasion but we did see Nick's huge erection two years ago. Back in his Pierluigi Collina days.

Looking back at some of the posts in this thread from that period... absolutely astounding  .

Very troubling. Doesn't feel like 2 years ago at all, more like months. :(

I gotta hand it to Sony, I have grown to love the PS4. I still think of the Xbox 360 as being my favourite console of all-time, but the PS4 is certainly gonna have a strong chance of taking that place in my heart.

I think the PSVR stats are pretty amazing. Over 2 million units sold, 150 different games, an attach rate of roughly 6 per person. I get why Sony said they are treating it as a separate platform. There was no guarantee of profit but they saw this as being part of the future of gaming and invested in it anyway and that should be commended. Skyrim VR has also given it a seasonal boost with all the major games sites talking about it. Good stuff.

The PSVR will really show what it can do when the PS5 is launched as the hardware itself is good enough and the extra horsepower will make a vast difference.

Posted 16th March 2016. Let's see.

PSN has also overtaken Steam as the largest online gaming service in terms of monthly active users

http://www.businessinsider.com/valve-ow ... in-2017-12

"Steam rivals Sony's PlayStation Network as the world's biggest gaming service, with 67 million monthly active players versus Sony's 70 million monthly active users."

What are you talking about? Everyone stopped using VR just before 16th March 2017.

I'm thinking with less than 3% of owners buying into it, it will die.

Still ahead of PS2, does it have the legs to sell 150m too?
