I watched my partner play a lot of it, it is just a Far Cry game. Captures the look and setting of the film(s) well so does what it sets out to do I think!

Okay, so i found today that my disc version of Cities Skylines didn't give me a free upgrade to Cities Skylines Remastered because of the fact that it was a disc copy and not a digital purchase.

Still i found Remastered was just £4.99 in the PS Store so i paid up, and the DLC i had from the PS4 game was still free to download (took ages finding it in the PS Store though, they didn't make it easy to locate that's for sure).

Anyways, i now have Cities Skylines Remastered installed and ready to go along with all my previously purchased DLC.

The only unfortunate thing now is that i can't use my PS4 game save, and so will have to start a new city when i have the time.

Sums up the PlayStation approach to cross generation support! A little hit and miss. PS5 will automatically play your PS4 games in PS4 Pro mode, so if you ever do want to continue with a PS4 save, it's not always a terrible choice.

New firmware update rolling out now -

About 1.2 GB. Mandatory for all PS5s.

We've updated the device software of the DualSense and DualSense Edge wireless controllers to improve their sound features.

Controller speaker enhancements. The controller speakers can now produce higher volume sound, allowing you to hear in-game sounds and voice chat audio more clearly.
Improved noise cancellation. The mic input quality on these controllers has been improved, courtesy of a new AI machine learning model. Background noise from button presses and game audio are suppressed, resulting in a better voice chat experience. Install the system software beta and update the controller device software to enjoy enhanced clarity of your voice chat audio when using the controller mic.
With this update, you may feel that the sounds coming from your controller speaker may sound louder. You can adjust the controller speaker volume from the control center.

Players watching Share Screen in full screen mode can now use pointers and emoji reactions to interact with the host's gameplay.

Viewers can move a pointer around, send a ping or draw a line on the shared screen, allowing them to highlight certain objects or areas to guide the host player more accurately.
Viewers can send emoji-based reactions to the host's screen to visually encourage and celebrate gameplay actions.
Note: this feature is available by default but can be turned off by the host in the Share Screen settings. Both the host and the viewer must be participating in the beta to use this feature during the beta period.

You can now adjust the brightness of your PS5 console's power indicator.
Go to [Settings] > [System] > [Beep and Light], and then select [Brightness].

Yes! YES!!!!

I've genuinely been eagerly awaiting this change; the standard light is, IMHO, way too bright... I'm gonna be excitedly downloading this update later :toot: .

Will probably help with battery life, too!

I have a PS Portal being delivered today! Gaming on the main tv is very hard with my current family situation, so I'm hoping that a handheld PS5 will enable me to play a little more often, in shorter bursts. The machine is still very hard to get hold of, had to join a stock alert group to make the purchase.

It's the light bar on the console itself, Sprouty, dude :-) .

I am envious! Looking forward to hearing how you get on with Portal, man!

Same as me! :D

I tested remote play on my phone recently and it was good. On my connection, I was able to play a couple of online games of Call of Duty without any obvious issues, which isn't the type of game which you'd expect Remote Play to be strongest in, so that was reassuring.

My Portal has arrived and whilst it's updating, my early thoughts are... this thing is bigger than I expected! And I'm already bricking it, worrying about smashing the screen. Must buy a screen protector ASAP! :dread:

Oh my the box it comes in is much nice.

First impressions is that it’s a perfect size and feels very comfortable to use after getting over the fact of the controller feeling a bit smaller than Dual Sense. Will that hamper long sessions? We’ll see.

Powered up and it turns out that my PS5, dual sense controllers and the PS portal need updates.

Another software update for the PS Remote Play software. Dunno why they can’t bundle that with the Player update.

I've noticed that the analogue sticks feel smaller. I am going to see how I get on with them before I think about buying stick adapters, though.

I have only had time to set the Portal up and play 5 minutes of a game, but I am mightily impressed with it. The biggest potential issue is input lag, but so far it's felt very smooth. I popped my PS5 on to a wired connection last night in preparation. Strangely, I speed tested the broadband on the PS5, which read 150 mb/second, but as far as I was aware, my broadband speed is 50mb! Though I've just tried the same on my phone and that's come at 60, so god knows what BT are doing. If they want to chuck some extra mb at me, they are welcome to!

I'm hoping I can test it my thoroughly this evening. :D

My PS5 isn’t wired to the router as the builders of this new house put the internet stuff in the bloody cupboard next to my front door.

I’m on the Ultra fast boardband from Sky and I have to say:

My first impressions isn’t that good. The whole ps5 screen appears blurry. With my horror and rising bile that the portal may be a waste of money.

But I preserved. Played Final Fantasy VII rebirth. Initial screens remained blurry especially the options.

I sighed and despaired. But as soon the game actually loads up, everything is a bit more smoother. Even the subtitles are still blurry and I almost dropped the portal due to a jump scare. I’m not the only one who got a fright but Barret did too.

Tried to get the map screen and I couldn’t work out how to get it as it was mapped on the touchpad of the dual sense.

A quick google search and it turns out to be a simple two tap on the left or right part of the screen. Double tapped and sure enough the map pops out. There are still a bit of blurry lines of the map outline.

I wandered around and was stunned at how clear and magnificent the game looks on the portal. The despair I have is long gone. The subtitles looks a lot better. Maybe there is a bit of buffering and it is taking the portal to catch up?

Lovely way of connecting the portal to the PS5, and putting the PS5 in rest mode even gives you a lovely animation.

The vibrations is pretty good. Maybe a bit too good as it could affect the PS portal battery life. I know I can switch them off, but this warrants a lot more of testing.

So far I’m bloody impressed. And no more of watching Marlon Dingle looking more sad every single episode goes past me and making me wanting to bash my head on the telly screen out of boredom.

More impressions later while I play more.

I’m bloody impressed so far.

Plus I haven’t noticed any input lags. Will report on that when I go and get into some battles.
