How time flies, Mills. It seems like yesterday you posted the picture of your wife holding your new born baby.

Haven't you tried those 'it helps hand to eye coordination and creativity' arguments?! Or is your time spent gaming like a warning of the dangers?

Nah I don't get that much free time to game anymore, but my older two kids time spent with games is a warning sign.

I'd say 2 and a half is too young bar an iPad. My girl is 4 now and her favourite thing to do is watch me play Xbox, she'll give me suggestions on what do do and where to go. Inevitably her fave game is minecraft although she's always at me to get back to my house WAY before sunset cos she wants me to be safe. She loves Sunset Overdrive cos its crazy and is a huge fan of Forza Horizon 2 oddly. Not sure what she thinks of Halo yet, she seems to like the grunts chatter.

I've a 360 upstairs in spare room thats full of games on the HD and when she's a little older ill let her have it but she prefers watching at mo. If im playing Minecraft late at night on your friends list its cos im trying to get my lil girl to fall asleep. :fp:

I haven't got kids (yet) but I can imagine you have to think about these boundaries a lot. I once saw a video of a toddler, maybe 1 and a half, who was so used to using an iPad that when she was given a magazine she was trying to swipe the pages! As for Minecraft, it's such a pure idea its part of the reason it has struck a cord with so many. I like Hello Kitty salon, I've heard Hello Kitty salon can be fun but perhaps overly stressful for a new starter. Maybe a simple racing or non-violent casual game is good for a young un?

She's already a whizz on the iPad and can flick through screens properly, load up the Disney movies on it and play whatever kids games are already on it; all by herself. :)

I just want to do something else with her and spend the time doing it together (we already do puzzles, read books, painting and learning to draw/write letters and numbers together). We shared the controller when playing Crash Bandicoot, that was fun, but looking more for games where she can't really die but likes the aspect of controlling something. And gaming has helped me with my hand/eye coordination as well as seriously upping my reaction times (yay for twitch shooters :datass: ).

Cheers for the suggestions everyone, much appreciated

Yeah kids really take to the ipad easily, my little one was the same loading up netflix and picking shows age 2. Controllers though are different. She enjoyed Banjo Kazooie on Xbox and controlled it reasonably well.

Get her a WII and buy her those Dora the explorer games.

My daughter hates games, her loss .

Cool, never knew that existed either. Looked interesting in the YT video I watched.

The music sends me to sleep.

Can't beat a human riding a cow riding nobi nobi boy. Or it raining giant spinning tops. Or flying fish.

Game makes no sense but loads of inspirational gooseberry fool happens.

Yea, was a great shout Dig Dug. My daughter seems to love playing it. It's great that there's no real objectives, or death scenes, or game overs etc. Just a chance for her to piss about and get used to using a controller. :D Thanks again!

She also likes the game where "little boy rescues little girl!" (aka: ICO HD).
