PlayStation UK is sponsoring the London Pride Festival. In a tweet from the official UK account they wrote 'PlayStation is very proud to be sponsoring this year’s Pride in London #ForALLthePlayers #Pride2017.' I think it's clever how they've taken their PS4 marketing slogan and made it into a message of inclusiveness. Truly now you can say (without hate) #GayStation.

London Pride - who else thought this?

That's an excellent bit of brand positioning by Sony. Regretably, videogaming does still suffer from some people carrying out abuse towards folk who associate themselves to the LGBTQ communities and this could be a good way of encouraging better behaviours.

Perfectly put. When you hear some of the stuff that some gamers come out with online, it's cool of PlayStation to very firmly say "we are not that".

I'm not sure if it will stop the bad behaviour, Trelliz, but it could help to make a few people think about the things that they say online. Anything that adds a little weight to the idea of "don't be an idiot" is probably a good thing.

Some of the responses to this on Twitter are heartbreaking.

Disappointed that they went for the hashtag #ForALLthePlayers instead of #forthegayers. Missed opportunity.

Which is why I thought it was so good that Sony did this. It's easy for any corporation to say "look at us, we support good things, we're great" but they'll know that this particular action will actually lose them the custom of a lot of small-minded people and they decided... screw them, we're doing it anyway.
