They're charging $20 for a months rental of 1 game so I think £6.99 a month for everything is slightly optimistic.

Totally agree that it's optimistic, but they would utterly clean up!

gooseberry fool, it would make the PS4 the best-value console there has been since PS+ happened to the PS3. Sales would go ballistic.

However, as has been discussed ad infinitum, Sony's online pricing strategy has been really bizarre. Insanely high prices on the one hand, for purchases of full titles. On the other hand, PS+ has been ramming crazy value down our hungry throats like an amorous Robin Thicke.

I'd like to think PS Now will follow the latter course.

I predict the subscription will be for a B-tier list of titles, with the best games being only available to rent individually.

How they can sit there with a straight face and criticise EA Access about being poor value I have no idea.

 I don't get why that's a issue.

I only skimmed and missed the mobile/smart tv deal.

Just tested this on my US account, my connection wasn't good enough. :( Guessing we need some EU servers.

PlayStation Now Subscription Program: All The Details

You’ve been able to rent games through PlayStation Now for several months now, but many of you have asked –- what about a subscription? I’m pleased to announce that starting January 13th, we’ll launch a subscription service for PlayStation Now that will provide instant and unlimited access to a catalog of more than 100 PS3 games. And since you’re using PlayStation Now, you can enjoy the freedom to quickly discover and play a wide range of full games without downloads, installs, or patches (not to mention trips to the store). The subscription service will be available first on PS4 across North America, and will come to other PlayStation Now enabled devices in the future.

You’ll be able to choose from two subscription plans: one month for $19.99, or a three-month package for $44.99 (about $15 per month). The subscription provides access to a large and diverse catalog of PS3 games, ranging from action to RPG and everything in-between. Check out our launch trailer for a sneak peek.

We know that there are many PS4 owners who never owned a PS3 or had a chance to play some of the great games it offered, and this subscription provides an easy way to catch up on games you may have missed.

Want to try before you buy? Well, good news! We’ll also offer a free seven-day trial to the subscription program when it launches.

PlayStation Now subscription will have strong and growing support from our publishing partners, and at launch you’ll find great games in your catalog from the likes of SCE Worldwide Studios, Warner Brothers, SEGA, and many others, including indie developers. Here’s a look at some of the key titles

There’s strong value with the subscription, as you’re getting access to over a hundred great games and lots of hours of game time. What’s more, we will be adding even more games over time, so you will always have something great to play.

Also, to celebrate the launch of the subscription service, a free PlayStation Now theme will be available for PS4 users in early January. If you download the theme before January 31, you’ll be automatically entered into a drawing for a chance to win a one-year subscription to PlayStation Now. I hope you will give the new PlayStation Now subscription a try, and I look forward to hearing your continued feedback as we grow the service.

Certainly not something I want to get involved with right now, although I can see it being a great way of playing games in 10 years time. I'm not paying over £100 a year to play games I have already played.

$19.99 a month. Will that mean £19.99 a month here?

Make it £5-£10 a month and I might be interested.

The existing PS+ sub is $49.99 in the US and £39.99 here, so it's not going to be $=£.

I'd say £15.99 per month or £34.99 for 3 months.

It's decent pricing, but I'm not going to subscribe.

Yeah, I'll pass, I think. I have enough PS4-specific stuff to play at the moment. Oh, and I still have a perfectly good PS3 in the living room.

Sony is using the service to bring new customers to the PlayStation ecosystem. They made a joint announcement with Samsung that it will be coming to their new Tizen TVs. And Andrew House has previously mooted that it will come to mobile platforms.

Ipad owners already have a big selection of games without having to pay for a subscription so I'm not sure it will be very attractive to them. But if you have a TV and no console £16 / $20 Is a very reasonable price to try out full console gaming.

Can't see why Samsung are bothering with Tizen OS, other than LG's webOS I think Android TV will be the standard.

All new Sony, Sharp and Philips TVs will come with Android TV, and that's just the start.

How much money did trying to support GoogleTV cost Samsung? They signed up to that mess and had to pull TVs running it from their CES lineup when it turned out to be complete garbage. Along with LG they are dominating the TV market so why give control of their TV platform to Google?

I'd pay the 20 wraps for the PS1 and PS2 games, tbh.

I'd probably subscribe for the odd month here and there. If I were feeling nostalgic, I'd pay 20 squids and binge on some retro for a month.
