Playstation Plus Annual Subscription Increasing To £49.99 From August 31st

Just got an email from Sony

From 00:01 BST on 31 August 2017 we are changing the prices of PlayStation®Plus.

- Annually, the price will change from £39.99 to £49.99 per annum.
- Quarterly, the price will change from £14.99 to £19.99 per quarter.
- Monthly, the price will change from £5.99 to £6.99 per month.

I wonder what they'll be adding to the service to reflect the increase in cost?????

£10 more than Xbox Live Gold per year, how times have changed.

And now I regret not getting in on that £30 offer (or whatever it was) via Amazon :lol:

Nothing - its to compensate for the weaker pound now we're leaving the EU. I hope everyone who voted leave is happy with this.

Will I still be able to use automatic cloud saves if I get rid of PS Plus?

That is a mighty big increase. Is this worldwide or just the UK?

Hoping because this is because of improvements (such as much newer, bigger games), expecting some bollocks excuse involving the value of the Pound.

Cloud saves are connected to active PS+ sub, so I doubt it.

I'm paid up until next year but that's still shitty news.

Maybe they'll start adding more "free" games every month as compensation. :slol:

In which case I shall wait before making judgement.

I did purchase the Amazon offer though the other month (which I haven't activated yet) so this won't impact me until the second half of 2018.

The price hike is across Europe*, so I doubt it. Just Sony being greedy banana splits.

They're supposed to, aye. But I've often read people complaining that they don't always reactivate without going through an extra layer of palaver. (Namely, dealing with PS CS.)

Oh, and yes I refuse to pay it so won't be renewing my sub when it expires end of November.

Up to 59.99 Euros in Europe (£53.66) so they're actually paying more than us.

Just grabbed another year from cdkeys.com for £33ish, get them before they sell out/get more expensive.

The best bit is that in Europe, one month costs €7.99 but you can save big by getting a three month sub for €24.99
