New addtions to Game Catalogue for March include Resident Evil 3. I've considered buying this for some time, so happy with that!

There's also a Phoenix Wright PS4 collection for subscribers to Premium.

Cool Boarders and Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier seem tempting to download.

Does that mean no longer accessible full stop or if I've got them I can keep them?

I've had FF7 downloaded for ages but not played it yet.

I think you only get to keep the monthly “free” games. These catalogue games will be unplayable after that date.

Mad, isn't it? I get that they're presumably licensed for a set time, but they could at least stagger them.

A lot of these games are discounted so frequently on sales that I’ve gradually been coming to the conclusion that these subscription services (in this case Premium and Extra) are turning into a complete waste of money unless you can adhere to their schedule. The warning they give you that games are leaving just isn’t long enough for me to even contemplate playing them - I want to work to my own schedule rather than theirs.

I agree. My sub was up so I cancelled it; had just started Horizon then realised I could pick it up in cex for 4 quid. Considering its length, makes way more sense

I have come to this conclusion also. It's why I have let me PS sub expire and why I will probably do the same for my Game Pass one in 15 months time. I might pick it up for the odd month if there are a number of high quality, short but expensive games (things in the Hellblade II catagory), but right now I am using it to play Persona 3 (about 90 hours long) and Fallout New Vegas (about £5.20 for the complete edition right now).

Binned PS Extra a few months ago and agree… unless playing PS5 is all you do, and you adhere to the time window in which games are available I’m sure it’s great but yeah, would much rather buy physically and sell on when I’m done that fork out for yet another sub.

You only get to continue playing any of the games that you have downloaded if you continue paying the sub; whether that's for games issued through Essential, Extra or Premium.

> For Essential games, you can play any games that you have claimed for as long as you're paying a sub.

> For Extra and Premium, once games are removed from the Game Catalogue, you can't play them even if you have previously downloaded them. Think of it as being like, say, Netflix - you only get to play if you pay, and you can only select games available at that time.

I re-subbed to the monthly base level just so I could play Helldivers 2, but once I've had my fill of that (might take a while given how awesome that game is :datass: ) I'll be cancelling it again.

A key part of the appeal of PS Plus for me is the ability to try a game and just move on from it if it's not to my taste. Well, to my partners taste, really! Downloaded Dave the Diver, and she's really enjoying it, but I'd have been reluctant to purchase it, as it could have very much not turned out to be her thing & been an immediate regret.

But yeah, Dave the Diver looks like an entertaining game. Though it would appear that the harpoon mechanic is completely broken - it randomly points all over the place and more often than not, misses the target, sometimes firing in the complete opposite direction to any fish, or not firing successfully at all. Hopefully this issue is patched before I play the game. :dread:
