Hopefully this will the right balance of affordability and performance. The original PSVR was a bit of a stop gap, and I'd go for a Quest 2 save for not wanting the Facebook integration and the relatively poor performance. Is it too much to hope for Half Life Alyx on this?

I hope there's a decent chunk of first party output for this. We have caned PSVR this year, mainly Playroom VR. Limited content but tonnes of fun.

I also really enjoy TV/VR co-op stuff, so would like to see more of that.

Apart from being white, that looks pretty cool.

Presumably this is coming out fairly soon if they're showing off the design now?

I like the look of the headset; evolution from PSVR rather than revolution, but then the original was already very good. The controllers will be a big step up from the old Moves.

I'm excited for this but I am apprehensive about both the cost and the availability; the main consoles are still very difficult to buy and I can't see this being any easier to get. But, hey, it seems really cool and I'm eager to try a boosted PSVR experience.

Where is that poll where we all made wildly inaccurate price predictions?

 maybe Day 1245, even more expensive than the system you need to run the device

I mean, if it was backwards compatible with older PSVR games then I might at least think about it, but as it is I'm not even considering it till it's at least in the £300-£400 range.

Really not the economic environment to be releasing an expensive add-on for an expensive console.

This is the issue for me also. I have about 50 games for PSVR, but my kit is packed up because I cany deal with the tracking anymore. If there was some sort of fix to allow me to play all my old PSVR games using decent controllers and tracking, I would probably still get it. As it stands, I will just keep replacing the titles where possible on my Quest 2.

It is a shame though - some of the 1st party Sony VR games were my favourites.

Sony taking the Nvidia approach and wanting that scalper cash for themselves.

I've no doubt I'll end up picking this up at some point, as I still want a "next-gen" VR experience, but only once it's cheaper and there are more than a handful of games for it.

At that price, you'd buy it if it was world beating. There's the feeling that you'd wait to see if there was loads of good stuff for it before you lay out that much, but that if it doesn't have a big user base then people won't bother developing for it. Which makes it a bit like the Vita, only that didn't have pricing as the initial issue... (although with the memory cards it became the issue)
