Anyone else fancy a new version of Point Blank? With the cheap plastic guns and all.

I sure as gooseberry fool would,my kids would love it.

I do miss light gun games; I enjoyed Tme Crisis and Judge Dredd on the PlayStation. Luckily the Wii is still great for these type of games as the Wii remotes work fine with modern TVs. House of the Dead 2 and 3, Ghost Squad, Resident Evil Chronicles, Dead Space Extraction, Gunblade NY... they're excellent fun :toot: .

I miss light gun games; I had great fun with Time Crisis, Point Blank and Die Hard on the PSone.

As we all generally have big TVs these days they could be experienced properly at home. They did release a new TC on PS3 but it was pretty bad, and the gun was a ludicrous orange.

Whenever I have the fortunes to be in the same vicinity as an arcade (which is hardly never :( ) I always look out for 3 games:

Time Crisis 2
House of the Dead 2
Point Blank

The trifecta of light gun games.

I used to play a tonne of light gun games in arcades like Ninja Assault, Vampire Night and Jurassic Park.

What's that one aimed at couples? It's by Sega I think and plays a little like Deadstorm Pirates.

I don't think I ever played Point Blank, but I used to love the Time Crisis games.

Virtua Cop on the Saturn was always a favourite of mine.

Was awesome playing House of the Dead 2, 3 and Overkill on the Wii. Oh, and Dead Space Extraction was feckin awesome!

The Wii Resident Evil shooters were fantastic too.
The less said about the PlayStation ones the better though... :dread:

+1 for Virtua Cop (Saturn or Arcade). Great lightgun game.

It's a genre that's dried up sadly, though the on-rails shooting-gallery nature of some VR stuff means we could see the genre evolve a bit. Would love to see some of them revamped for it.

Point Blank was superb, I was surprisingly good at it considering the fact that I had to rest the gun on my wheelchair armrest and sort of guess if it was pointing at the correct part of the screen.

Wii has a few light gun games as I own most of them.

Cabela hunting games seem to be only things about now that i know of.

Arcade games would be a great platform, on all the platforms, would be great for light gun games.

House of the dead, virtua cop, time crisis and conversions of the arcade games.

100% agree with everything in this thread. A decent light gun game, on modern TVs, would be incredible. We used to love a bit of Time Crisis at Uni.

Over there!

Dat music

Point Blank was in the Student Union Bar, two floors beneath my room and was only 30p a go. Played that a lot and managed to get on the high score board, even whilst drunk.

Finally sorting through boxes since my move 2 years ago and so far come across this lot. Have more somewhere but not found those yet.

Like shooting games and shmups as easy to pick up and play.

I wonder if VR is the future of these games, Until Dawn on PSVR and Space Pirate on Vive seem to indicate it is.
