Already completed two games this year :datass: .

Oh, and yeah, I also always take a look at the Settings section before starting a game. I turn on subtitles and make sure the graphics aren't too dark.

I spend far too much time admiring the scenery.

Rapidly-greying is Mediocre to Average at games :fp:

It breaks the realism for me if I’m non stop running.

I do this too, particularly if I'm about to go kill some mofo who has it coming. In Red Dead Redemption slowly walking up to your intended victim and blowing them away with a pistol was particularity satisfying. Gave it a whole sinister, 'High Plains Drifter' feel to everything.

And like Peter, inventory management. I hate a cluttered inventory.

Saving twice, just in case.

In Soul Calibur, once I've won a bout I'll always try and get a throw off if they're falling down slowly.

I used to love this, juggling the opponent also sometimes 4 or 5 extra blows after the killing blow

In Zelda it's smashing rocks and vases, even after it becomes evident they've set the RNG to 0 for that area for some reason, i.e. there's never anything in them.

I also like using acronyms on gaming forums shortly after I've discovered what they actually mean, so I feel like I fit in.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

I like to spend a few hours tweaking settings to try and find the optimum setting. Then spend 5 mins playing before I get distracted by another game.

and repeat.

In anything with a vehicle, see what the silliest place I can get the car to. Edge of the map/Top of a building sort of thing.

I find it outright impossible to immediately do the story in open world games, even in Sleeping Dogs which I've completed like 3 times I still find myself running around doing side stuff even though I need to do more of the story to unlock the proper side stuff.

Bonus points if you can get a side or rear throw for extra dramatic effect.

I have to do that anyway to invert the Y axis.

Not just me then. Why do we do it? What game from yesteryear had inverted axis that made its mark on us to the extent we are inverting 20 years later?

Edit: Goldeneye on the N64 did it for me, as well as flight sims on the PC. Remember when every PC owner had a joystick with a red trigger?

I shoot lights to see if they go out and make the game darker.

Well that's the most relatable thing I've read in a good while :simper:

In RPGs I hoard items. I'll have a hundred potions, a character who's nearly dead and be like 'but what if I need those later?' I also talk to all the NPCs, often twice, even when it's clear they won't have anything interesting to say.

I always spend more time than anyone should spend observing the running and walking animations of main protagonist. Usually during the start of a new game when you first get to move your player around. I'm a sucker for extra details.

If there is a photo mode in a game, I invariably spend more time with that than actually playing.

This pretty much sums it up. I find weird places to stand, and stand there.
