Frankly it depends on the card, there are certainly some that are well worth selling individually, holo first editions from base set in particular, but the vast majority of cards from that era are individually worthless.

I had such a huge collection aged 9, and I went to cub scout Millenium Camp which got flooded and they all got washed away while we got evacuated in the middle of the night...

Still haven't quite got over that :(

If you have a full set then I'd sell it as such, have seen a few full basic sets on eBay go for a fair amount. Otherwise sell off your rare holos and chuck away everything else.
