To fight? If just to complete the Dex don't worry about it

Appraise it - look for best ranking (e.g. Mystic says "wonder")

Optional Step - Use IV tool (e.g. PokeGenie) to find best from pool

If you have a couple of options (and haven't identified best IV one) use highest CP

Got a Lapras at the weekend - first one :) Dex is 224/234 now (Sandshrews and LIckatung man. Damn it)

Invites could be a pain - particular for people that "work". No matter how much notice you get. Also how long is "recent" for raiding a gym - feels like a way (unsurprisingly) to get people to raid more to get more chances.

Let me put it this way, I was by my first raid pokemon yesterday which was a CP 42691 Zapdos. As I was alone, I didnt attempt it. Even with 20 people, I think I would struggle when my best is an 800CP Jynx

Zapdos is doable with 7-12 people depending on level.

Unless they were 20 yous (sorry :P) you'd be fine.

Look for facebook groups etc for raiding in your area. I was solo until I joined a group now I can 3-5 star pretty much every day.

So I've been playing in Spain for a couple of days and I've found so many new Pokemon, what's that all about? Do certain Pokemon only spawn in certain areas?

Yeah but the ones that spawn in a particular area get changed every so often.

Just seen the update this will be getting later this year thanks to iOS 11's ARKit, looks great!

https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/p ... h-surreal/

A few important things to note:

- Pikachu grows bigger and smaller, depending on your actual distance from its spawn point. This was never done before, as it was not possible with the technology available in the past.

- You can actually walk around, or towards, or away from Pikachu, fundamentally changing the entire encounter mechanic. Walking closer will result in a different angle and distance required to throw the PokéBall in order to hit the model!

-PokéBall collision now depends on both the position of the model and the orientation of the plane. It’s not same if you throw a PokéBall at something on the ground or at something standing on a table.

Can anyone explain pokecoins earned at gyms to me. I sometimes leave Pokemon in gyms and they return but I don't get any coins, why is that? I left one last night for example and it returned after just over ten hours but I didn't get any coins for it. I left another one in a gym near it at the same time and it returned after only five hours but I got 11 coins from it.

There's a limit is why. You can only get a max of 50 coins a day. So if you had one Pokémon on a gym for a whole day, it wouldn't give you more than 50 even though the maths says you should get more. If you had two or more on gyms, and their combined hours added to what should be more than 50, you would still only get 50. And numerous other scenarios etc etc.

I think I'm finally done with this game. I can't keep up with the numerous gooseberry fool going on.

Yeah it's my fault I didn't realise that I had a Pokemon return just after midnight with 39 coins. :fp:

I feel like I'm only playing the game for the sake of it half the time so would give up but I feel addicted to it in some ways.
