Why? What's the point of a Pokemon Go meetup when you can't trade or battle or anything? Are they hoping Niantic will notice and manually spawn some rare Pokemon there or something?

Yeah I stopped as everything on gyms was > 2500 and there just wasn't any point playing.

Still do Ingress every so often as that doesn't suffer for the top levels killing the game as much.

I still play but I'm mainly catching Pokémon and hatching eggs. The IV checker that is inside the app itself made it easier for me to sift through my Pokémon and transfer the weaker ones. Once I know which ones of the remaining monsters are the strongest, I'll train them and fight at some gyms.

Trainers, the upcoming version of Pokémon GO introduces a new Buddy Pokémon experience. You will be able to pick your favorite Pokémon to become your buddy. Having a Buddy Pokémon opens up unique in-game rewards and experiences. Buddy Pokémon will appear alongside your Trainer avatar on your profile screen. A Trainer can earn Candy for their buddy by walking a certain distance. When you want a different experience, you will be able to choose a new buddy at any time. Go out and explore the world with your Buddy Pokémon!

Finally caught a Pikachu today, well actually I caught 2. Seaham harbour in the north east is an epic place for Pokemon.

Last week I was in Dusseldorf, in the very exclusive part of the shopping district there is a bridge with 4 poke spots on it. From sunrise to sunset it's packed with people, catching on average 2 a minute. Amazing for grinding.

Also got a Mr Mime over there.

Still desperate for more magicarp at about 250 candies so far. Also want a Snorlax and a Lickitung

Wish my image sig would work

So according to people on reddit who got Pokemon Go Plus early, it does in fact track distance when the phone is locked which means you can level up your buddy Pokemon and work towards hatching eggs without having the app open all the time.

Got one on the way for the other half. That's weird maf because I'm pretty sureNintendo's own product page said it does not do that.

Nintendo what are you even doing, do you know?

Oh and it's out of stock. What a stroke of luck, I'd never have thought that would happen.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

Yeah the UK and US sites say that but someone on GAF noticed the wording on the Japanese site changed recently and says it does track distance. There was a lot of people on there and reddit saying they cancelled their preorder (or claimed to) because the official site said it didn't track distance when the phone was locked and now it's out of stock everywhere and they can't order it

Seems the delay might have something to do with adding Android compatibility because they've added info about that on the official site now. My one was dispatched yesterday so I should hopefully have it by Friday.
