Pokémon Legends: Z-A, an ambitious new entry to the Pokémon video game series, will launch on Nintendo Switch systems in 2025! A new adventure awaits within Lumiose City, where an urban redevelopment plan is under way to shape the city into a place that belongs to both people and Pokémon.

The fact this is next year is good as it means GF taking time with it, not great for Nintendo and Switch's 2024 line up

I wonder if this will be in time for Switch 2 launch? Would be pretty big for a Pokémon game to hit around the time the new console launches.

I really enjoyed the last Legends game, more than Sc/Vi so it’s good to see the series continue. Wonder if that’s the only location this game will have?

Yup it's set in Kalos which is cool!

I'll be calling this Legends AZ, I assume the letters are a nod to the previous king of the Kalos region you meet while adventuring through the XY games.

Definitely a cross gen game for Switch 1 and Switch 2 though, really glad they're taking their time with it as well, reckon it could well be a launch game for Switch 2....

I'll believe that when I see it. Oh and this has Switch 2 written all over it if its 2025.

Kalos was separated into three distinct zones, so I could see those each being a location we'd choose to explore, with multiple visits to each one as the story progresses. A redevelopment plan for Lumiose City sure sounds like we'll be heading out to each area multiple times, at least.

I'm more interested in more Legends than more mainline at this point. Hopefully they don't play it too safe and can expand on some of the concepts like the modified moves in the first.

So milners thread just automatically get special treatment then

I like Pokémon Legends a whole lot, I didn't like Kalos or Mega Evolution much but the former felt very rushed. Maybe with a bit more budget or time this could be something great?

On the game, I wonder why they have bypassed Black and White?

On a plus point this is probably a Switch 2 launch game, or coming out November 2025, so plenty of time to actually put the work needed into it, alongside Gen 10 in 2026

I need to come to the realisation that we're never going to get any of the gen 1 to 3 games on the Switch though, they just don't want to put them on there, whether they think the demand for them isn't there or what, I don't know.
