Uh, according to the WSOP site the stacks are actually the other way around.

It's amazing how many hands Eastgate made when it got down to six players. First he hits that one-outer on Montgomery. If he hadn't made that five on the river against Schwartz there was no chance he'd have called the subsequent all in, and he managed to snag a set of three against Phillips, without the three on the flop there's no way he's calling that all in either.

To say he's running well is an understatement.

The final hand...

Hand #274 - Ivan Demidov Eliminated in 2nd Place ($5,809,595); Peter Eastgate Wins the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event!

Peter Eastgate has the button. He limps in and Ivan Demidov checks the big blind. The flop comes down 2d Ks 3h. Action is checked to Eastgate, who bets 1.25 million. Demidov calls, then checks again when the 4c hits the turn. Eastgate doesn't slow down, firing out a bet of 2 million more. Demidov counts to twenty, then check-raises to 6 million. With that bet, he has committed half of his stack to the pot. It could be the point of no return if Eastgate comes along. Eastgate thinks things over for about thirty seconds and then calls. When he does, everyone in the gallery rises expectantly to their feet. The river is the 7s. Demidov announces all in and Eastgate snap-calls. Could this be it? Demidov shows first, tabling 4h 2h for two pair, fours and deuces. Eastgate is next to show, turning over Ad 5s -- he's made a wheel! It's all over! Ivan Demidov has been eliminated in second place, earning $5,809,595 for his remarkable run through this tournament. Peter Eastgate has been crowned the champion of the 2008 World Series of Poker's Main Event. He is the youngest ever, breaking the record held by Phil Hellmuth, Jr. for the last 19 years.

Unlucky Demidov.

Yowser, Eastgate catches another hand again. Well done to him. Hellmuth is going to be pissed.

Apparently Demidov made quads in the very first hand of heads up play.

Great, ain't it?

Amusing as he is, it's nice that one things gone from his resume. I've got this hatred of him since he folded his blinds away at a FT at the WSOP, just to pick up Aces a few hands later and act like a genius because of it.

Well....maybe. But we'll see. Two strong results will do me better than winning one and going out first the other, so we'll see. Its all in the cards after all!

Is that on or offline Slayer?

And Ben, the tip i go all-in every time the two cards add up to 7 or 10. 60% of the time, it works every time.

9pm Start the only snag is if you do win you have to be free to be at the live event on Thursday or Friday depending on which Day 1 you get drawn.

I think i'm going to start off pretty tight with it been a freeze out event and try not to get out of line too early on.

Theres another event like this, on Saturday or Sunday for a seat at a live event for the GCBPT

Ill post details nearer the time for anyone who's interested.

If I make an account do I need to deposit money at all before I can use the account?

If not I might just be interested in playing tonight.
