Is it 6 max?

They are three handed. Most of the time you are playing for double your buy-in, so it's not great, but in the long term it works out as about 5% rake.

I played something similar before and liked the idea but wasn't keen on it in practice because I'd hate to finally hit a jackpot table then lose. However the Full tilt ones pay all three places if the prize is big.

I moved $20 across from Stars today and 2-tabled mostly the $2 ones. After 48 games I am up $68 with a win rate of 54.2% 8-)
They definitely seem fishier than the standard HU Hypers. Just now I saw someone shove 84s and called by K6o in the first hand!

Played some more of the jackpot SNGs today. Was up to $100 profit at the $2 ones without any big wins, so decided to move up to the $5 games and proceeded to lose it all :fp:

The standard at the $5 is no better than the $2, I simply had the worst run of cards ever. At one point I went 19 games in a row without cashing and most of those I had reached HU and got it in as a big favourite.

I played 58 games at the $5 and all but four were a $10 prize, so even if my cards were holding it would be hard to break even. What was even more annoying was that the couple of times I did sit on a $30 table are when I had the worst coolers. QQ < JT was fair enough, at least I don't mind his call, but on the other one I shoved with A8s and got called by 58o. I knew straight away he was going to hit a 5 and sure enough he did :(

I do like these, just really frustrating to be up 50 buy-ins in 24hrs and then suddenly run so bad as soon as I move up. At least I wasn't playing too bad, I'll just go back to the $2 tables and do it all over again with a bit more luck this time...

Currently on $245 on the Jackpots. Was on $295 but proceeded to win only the low ones and not the bigger ones.

EDIT - Also won £130 at the Phoenix. Shoulda got more but levelled myself for second and got third instead.

Won £65 in a pub game last night. Hello new hoodie...

Felt like I was really in tune with the game and making the right moves at the right time. Long may it continue...

Pokerstars have also added the same Jackpot SNGs as Fulltilt, they are called 'Spin N Gos'.

Buy-ins are slightly different and include $3 and $7. So you can work your way up from $2 on fulltilt to $3 on stars, then $5 on FT, then $7 on Stars.

Only other thing is that you can't make deals, but on big prizes 2nd and 3rd do still get 10 - 20% of the 1st prize.

I played a few and sufferered more horrendous coolers, but then got lucky and binked a 10x to break even. The variance is ridiculous.

Poker hates me at the moment, these hands always happen on the tables with bigger prizes :(

What's the biggest jackpot anyone has played so far on the Spin N Gos?

I had a 20x on a $10 table - $200.00

I lost that one. No-one would deal.

I've won all the $100.00 ones I've been on though, or dealt for them.

I withdrew the other day about a £150 profit. Sick varience but fun.

I've been playing the $7 ones and had two $42 wins at the same time, but that's the best I've had. Played less than 100 of them - around $50 up.

Not had many big jackpots. A few 10x at the $2.

The variance on these is so crazy though. You really need to win most of the big jackpots when they hit as without those it's very hard to profit.

Contrasting the reaction of Sebastian Pauli winning the EPT London Main Event yesterday to the reaction of Dan Colman winning a few recent high, high stakes tournaments is extremely interesting...

It's because Dan Colman is a massive unlikeable cock.

I think the link is an interesting read on Colman's reaction and the "new" breed of players vs the "old" breed.
