My idiotic Labour council, who recently changed the bins, have been issuing the following to some residents:
”Having listened to the concerns of residents, we have agreed with our contractor Veolia that there are a considerable number of properties that are not suitable for the new bins.
We will therefore be removing the new bins from all properties on the street and you will be able to use your bin/boxes as previously.
We realise that there will have been many people who were looking forward to the new bins [WHAT strawberry floating HORSE gooseberry fool], so want to apologise for the inconvenience, however, from an operational perspective, the number of properties that would have required an alternative solution would have made it extremely difficult to continue.”
Residents in Lakehall Gardens, Thornton Heath, say their bins have only been emptied twice in the last seven weeks, with missed collections a widespread issue since the new bins were introduced.
Dustmen have told residents they’ve struggled to access the cul-de-sac due to parked cars and have even had difficulty in carrying the new, larger bins to their lorries.
It’s a level of incompetence and sheer ‘we know best’ arrogance that defies belief. It’s The Apprentice.
