I should have included a 2000s sitcom gif to get my point across

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Starmer says that national flags should not be altered or messed with. The Labour membership card has a flag that's been messed with.

Let me guess, you're one of those wokies who thinks sacred icons like are flag as a little emblem on the back of a sports shirt that changes its design every year aren't important, but then get upset by things like child poverty, or systemic oppression of minority groups?

It's entirely normal to have an interest in the shirt your team wears. It's not normal to get this upset about it.

Um actually I think you'll find that particular gif is from the 1997 series.

That was the infamous Blackburn shirt that had a call for Jihad against Western imperialism printed on the collar. Also the sponsor peeled off in the wash.

Yesterday figures were published suggesting 18% of the population are in absolute poverty, including 3.6 million children, and our three main national parties are focusing on actual nonsense.

We're really, completely strawberry floated as a country aren't we? :dread:

That’s not a right wing flag. It’s a charity symbol and has no political affiliation.

You’re thinking of the American blue line flag. Which was adopted by American far right organisations as a solidarity symbol with their police.

It's only called racist when it's flying from a copper, when it's on a website it's called a charity symbol.

Glibness aside, the point Knoy was making is that this charity (alongside so many other organisations - see posts above!) have done exactly the same thing as Nike, but because the current England team are a symbol of everything the right wing hate it's now a problem.

Well no, he said the right had defaced it. But they didn’t. The right may be happy with it but they didn’t make it.

Me personally I don’t care what Nike have done with the flag. I think the colours look nice.
