What a stupid banana split.
It's because they feel like they worked hard to achieve what they have. By admitting it is the system that is screwing young people and it can't be fixed by working hard it is, in their eyes diminishing their own accomplishments because they have to admit the system was set up for their generation to succeed and was not in fact reliant on working hard.
Basically they're full of gooseberry fool and I hate them.
Also Matt LeTissier is saying that Easter 2020 being quite nice and this year being rainy is proof that "they" are controlling the weather, but that's not news anymore

Is that implying that going to London is a guarantee to be mugged for your watch and wedding ring?
I love how despite the fact the cuts on police were decided on by the Tory government they're trying to blame Sadiq Khan still - even better they did it on a day of celebration (Eid). What a banana split.
Just for a bit of context. The Mets funding is comprised roughly of 1/4 from London Council Tax and 3/4 a central government grant. Khan as the Mayor acts as the crime commissioner so is responsible for financial decisions within the force.
As with local councils, the Tories have slashed central funding for police forces leaving the easiest route to raise funding to raise council tax. Which is also capped by the government unless you get special permission. Essentially forcing councils and police into making large cuts or running up huge debts. Then the Tories sit there and blame the local councillors who are often labour, lib dem etc. If it's a Tory PCC or council then it's labours fault from 14 years ago that they have no money.

Aled Jones was held up relatively recently for his Rolex, which was apparently worth a whopping £17,000. Bit different from my £60 Sekonda from Argoose.

This bit in bold is super important and needs to be known
We desperately need well-to-do folk from all walks of life in British society to become accepting of their privilege and comfortable in recognising it as such
Only from there can there come an acceptance that actually they should be expected to contribute reasonably to the maintenance of the system that enabled them to succeed - and to in fact reinvent that system so it can enable others, both like and unlike them, to do the same
