Has anyone been watching the Defiance documentary on Channel 4 this week, on South Asian communities combatting the far-right in the late 70s and early 80s? It's grim how all the talking points around immigration just haven't changed in over forty years and while it's much more of a taboo to be outright racist these days (or at least was for a little while) it does bring to mind how many people just learned to keep their bigotry to themselves rather than actually deal with it.

If Nicola Sturgeon is ever charged (would be excellent timing if it was a few weeks before a GE) then that gap will widen further.

Scottish independence is now back to being a 'once in a generation' event rather than requesting constantly inside a decade since the previous referendum.
