PCC and some mayoral thing. Made a point of voting because
A) one of the mayoral candidates was Ben Bradley and he's a banana split
B) the current PCC got banned from driving within months of getting the job. And she's also married to the local Tory MP. And they are both loathsome people.

Boris Johnson turned away from polling station after forgetting photo ID

Sky News understands polling station staff were forced to turn the former prime minister away after he initially failed to comply with legislation he introduced while he was in Downing Street.

Mr Johnson, who introduced the Elections Act requiring photo ID in 2022, was attempting to cast his ballot in South Oxfordshire, where a police and crime commissioner for the Thames Valley is being selected.

He's so strawberry floating lucky that Liz Truss became PM after him and stopped him becoming the stupidest PM in history.

Voted independent for mayor and, reluctantly, Labour for PCC. Not going to be refreshing my phone waiting for the results of either.

To be fair to Johnson, it was probably hard to show his ID after he swallowed it.

Just the one by-election today? Blackpool South, taken off the serial rule-breaker Scott Benton (Con, obvs).

In 2019, Tories took just under 50% there, a 9% swing that took the seat off Labour with a 3700 majority. I'd expect that to be heftily reversed tonight.

People voted for that dozy flump. A disturbing number of them probably still would.
