I have recently got a 360 and have been looking to get some XBLA games. A fair number of people have suggested Portal to me and I am interested in it. I know that the logical way to buy it would be to buy the Orange Box as it is cheap at chips but I really do not like Half Life at all....Portal appeals as it seems more like a puzzler. Anyway, to the point, I have heard some people say that the main Portal game on the XBLA version has some story puzzles missing and that elements of the story as also missing...this concerns me as the story and humour seem a crucial part of the game, I know you get the extra non story levels but I just want to know if the story element of Portal remains intact on the XBLA version.
Thanks chaps....please feel free to add me Kanga UK as my friends list is barren and I'm a bit of a billy no mates!
Eh? I played both Orange box & XBLA versions of Portal and they're same. Nothing was taken out or anything. I'd say go for it, although Orange Box is like £10ish and that's even cheaper than buying Portal off XBLA anyway...unless you want extra maps/challenges.

Cheers.
Yeah, my original thinking was that OB Portal and XBLA Portal would be exactly the same (but obviously with the 14 or so extra stages) but looking through some reviews last night a couple did say there was a few subtle things and puzzle tweaks on the XBLA story mode. Anyway, as you have played them both I will go with what you are saying....will get the XBLA version as nothing else on the OB appeals.
