HoHoHo of Canton wrote:KillZone 2 is critically-acclaimed and finds a decent-sized hardcore fanbase, but doesn't remain in the charts for too long after a very promising start.

Heavy Rain is widely regarded as one of the most innovative games of the year, and gets some very high marks, but doesn't find favour with all critics and many gamers are a little disappointed.

Nintendo doesn't bother to promote the new Wii-makes and all of them flop. Wii Sports Resort doesn't come out until May or June, and is a big success, but not quite enough to compel all developers to utilise MotionPlus in their games. At least one game is made which requires MotionPlus, and there is a great deal of controversy over that decision.

Alan Wake is released and is most people's game of the year. It is fairly short, but owing to its non-linear approach has amazing replay value.

Home's popularity begins to dwindle.

Nintendo's Q4 release schedule has several core-friendly titles, including a Starfox game which is the best in the series to date. Monster Games' F-Zero Wii reduces the number of competitors in each race, but it does feature an online mode which doesn't have the same popularity as Mario Kart Wii, but the game is quite highly regarded.

Halo 3: ODST doesn't come close to the sales of its predecessor. Its stealth-focused gameplay is divisive, but it generally finds plenty of critical favour. Eurogamer's review suggests it's better than Halo, which sparks off a 2000-post comments thread where the writer's family receives death threats.

Microsoft's Avatar game is actually a pretty effective family-focused title, but it doesn't sell nearly as well as its Wii counterparts.

Team ICO's new title is unveiled, but has a release date of 2010.

Edge gives three hugely-successful Nintendo titles 6/10.

At least two gaming magazines close their doors.

Rhythm Heaven is released in the west in Q2 and doesn't perform nearly as well as in Japan.

Nintendo announces New Super Mario Bros. 2 - New Super Mario World.

At least one of the HD consoles gains a new motion controller.

In fairness In2games have announced the Gametrak Freedom and the first game to support it already.

That is all.

Fixed.

How can the Saints Row 2 DLC also be utter shite when nothing else you listed was utter shite?

The 'also' isn't refering to the DLC...think about it for a second.

It implies that there has already been DLC for Saints Row 2. Perhaps you should word it better.

Apple to produce/announce a home games console.
It'll stir the internet into a frenzy, it'll probably be called the iGame or something.
It won't be released until 2010.

Pikmin 3 will be released, either summer or winter.

Nintendo unveil Zelda at E3, and its release date will be December. Its visual style won't be too dissamilar to Wind Waker's graphics, but at the same time it'll be its own thing. If anything, it'll be the most linear/streamlined Zelda yet.

A PS3 game will be released that for many will sell the console to them, and it won't be the new ICO Team game. I'll be released in winter and coincide with a PS3 price reduction that's just under £200. It won't be Killzone 2 either. Something we don't know about. (never gonna happen)

A new F-Zero is released that's terrible. It's like an F-Zero knock-off but with the F-Zero name. Some will hate it, others will love it because they can play it with their grandma or something.

I'm not up to date on gaming anymore really.

edit: the next GTA spin-off such as Vice City and San Andreas will be announced and, for the first time, will not be set in America or Britain. Possibly Moscow. Actually, probably not. Okay, it'll be set 10-50 years into the future, and will be released summer 2010. Everyone will adore it, even those disappointed by GTA IV. They'll say; 'man, this sure makes up for the dullness of GTA IV.' Other quotes will be like; 'this is the most fun I've had in a game since Resident Evil 4. Game of the Generation.'

They haven't clsoed due to a mistake, it's all about the benjamins.

Half Life 2: Episode 3 will be released through Live Arcade, becoming the most successful XBLA title in a matter of days, despite it's increased cost.

Wii console Sales will drop like a stone as nearly everybody who wants a Wii has purchased one.

Edge goes the entire calender year without giving a game [10]

Resident Evil 5 will be dismissed by the critics for not improving much on Resident Evil 4 and will not meet sales expectations.

Well, there's always plenty of people on there. The novelty will wear off, though.
