by JiggerJay » Fri Dec 19, 2008 3:16 pm

Sorry if this has been done, lock me up!

anyway.

Fight Night Round 4, will be even better than the previous, but it will go widely un-noticed by the general population
The "exclusive" GTA 4 content will get a release for PS3
Crackdown 2 to be announced
Unvieling of the next psp
La Noire will slip to 2010
Duke Nukem Forever won't ship this year!
Skate 2 won't be as good as skate 1 (based widely on review scores and everyones opinion.)

Edit - More Added

Star Wars KOTOR MMO will be a huge disapointment and a wasted opportunity by Bioware/EA who will use the idea to try to fleece the consumer via microtransaction
Still no solid shemnue 3 news
A new sonic game announced/released... but it'll be gooseberry fool

Hitman 5's release date to be announced, with every mission to contain optional targets in a sandbox world.
Uncharted 2 to be amazing, and hits the shelves in November.
God Of War III to overcome people's initial drab first impressions.
Gran Turismo 5 to severely disappoint, unless they get damage in by this year.
MGS4 to remain a PS3 exclusive.
A personal prediction in that I will be very underwhelmed by Killzone 2.
GTAIV: Vice City announced.
Finally, a current gen WRC is announced.
Skate 2 to be received in the same veign as the original (underrated)
As I predicted correctly for 2008, 2009 shall go by without a genuine PSone classic hitting PSN.

2009 to be the year of PS3 but sales continue to lag behind the 360 until Q3 and 4 where they get a big bump
Microsoft to announce a motion controlled device and a whole host of games aimed at the family for Christmas
Wii to continue to dominate the competition, Wii Sports Resort is a hit but there's not a lot about for the core Nintendo fans until late in the year

Heavy Rain to be a favorite for GOTY.
Both Halo titles to be on the shitty side of average but sell strawberry float loads.
F-Zero from the Excite Truck dev is the best racer of the year and has 30 man online races.

You can take those predictions to the bank 8-)

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 announced and released for WiiWare, Xbox Live Arcade and PSN. Emulating the graphics/sound of a Mega Drive game, as well as the platform/momentum orientated gameplay of old school Sonic, it becomes a huge hit critically and commercially, doing to Sonic what Mega Man 9 did to its respective franchise.

I'm not delusional, I swear! :shifty:

That is all.

Same old gooseberry fool for another year, maybe 5 or 6 good games will be released, and they won't even be that good anyway.

How can the Saints Row 2 DLC also be utter shite when nothing else you listed was utter shite?

KillZone 2 is critically-acclaimed and finds a decent-sized hardcore fanbase, but doesn't remain in the charts for too long after a very promising start.

Heavy Rain is widely regarded as one of the most innovative games of the year, and gets some very high marks, but doesn't find favour with all critics and many gamers are a little disappointed.

Nintendo doesn't bother to promote the new Wii-makes and all of them flop. Wii Sports Resort doesn't come out until May or June, and is a big success, but not quite enough to compel all developers to utilise MotionPlus in their games. At least one game is made which requires MotionPlus, and there is a great deal of controversy over that decision.

Alan Wake is released and is most people's game of the year. It is fairly short, but owing to its non-linear approach has amazing replay value.

Home's popularity begins to dwindle.

Nintendo's Q4 release schedule has several core-friendly titles, including a Starfox game which is the best in the series to date. Monster Games' F-Zero Wii reduces the number of competitors in each race, but it does feature an online mode which doesn't have the same popularity as Mario Kart Wii, but the game is quite highly regarded.

Halo 3: ODST doesn't come close to the sales of its predecessor. Its stealth-focused gameplay is divisive, but it generally finds plenty of critical favour. Eurogamer's review suggests it's better than Halo, which sparks off a 2000-post comments thread where the writer's family receives death threats.

Microsoft's Avatar game is actually a pretty effective family-focused title, but it doesn't sell nearly as well as its Wii counterparts.

Team ICO's new title is unveiled, but has a release date of 2010.

Edge gives three hugely-successful Nintendo titles 6/10.

At least two gaming magazines close their doors.

Rhythm Heaven is released in the west in Q2 and doesn't perform nearly as well as in Japan.

Nintendo announces New Super Mario Bros. 2 - New Super Mario World.

At least one of the HD consoles gains a new motion controller.
