It'll be tougher this year because there's usually a few bankable points scorers whereas they're harder to identify this season. Suarez and Lampard are both gone, most of the big clubs have either new 'star' players or a new manager, and most starting XIs aren't even fixed.

This is true and it'll be better for it-the captain choice last season was largely redundant thanks to everyone picking Suarez. In fact I pretty much lost the league with my mates on my failure to make Suarez captain against Spurs at WHL :fp:

How does everyone approach subs? I've been trying to give myself options to rotate but you basically rule yourself out of getting the expensive players if you do b

I've tried to focus my subs on cheap defenders who are likely to play. I've got Vlaar, Coloccini, Cameron and Simpson. Terry is my only relatively expensive defender. The idea is to rotate them based on who's playing at home that week, or based on relative ease of the fixture. I've also got a £5 million rated midfielder who will probably stay on the bench as he might not play much in Arteta.

Yay for giving away my strategy!

Do values change before the start, do you know? So if you knew of a player who was leaving a gooseberry fool team to join a good team, for example... :shifty:

good question, not actually sure. I think it stays the same at the start of the season and then goes up and down once the season has kicked off.

Fair enough. I've put Loic Remy in anyway, just on the off-chance

I believe the values stay the same - the only way this can catch you out is if a player in your team moves to a club for whom you already had three players, in which case the game would force you to reselect. For example, if you already have three Man Utd players in your team, plus Vermaelen, and he moves to Old Trafford, then you have to change your squad.

Team "Want Chamakh 4 Good" is in...

My only rule is that I should have 3 Palace players in the squad... Which is useful cos they're cheap as...

Bumpety-bump.

Big kick-off in a few days' time. Best get your last minute adjustments in.

Quite a few 'big' players now not expected to be fit for Saturday so it's worth checking that.

'Mon the Morning Glory. :datass:

Cheers Poser for bumping it as I was actually do it myself today to try and get more people to join.

Picking a team has become a bit a difficult due most of my original selection being doubts. I'm also not sure whether to drop Sanchez and Toure for Ramsey and Fabregas so I can replace Bojan with Bony or Lukaku (who is also a doubt).

No worries. :D

I've got Evans and Zabaleta in defence and they are both probably out for the weekend. Should probably just transfer them out while I still can, though I think Evans is going to do well for Man Utd this season.

Definitely feeling the pressure!
