Are there a lot of systems present?

Lol etc but no. I mean it's very tonally and systematically (ha) similar to Bioshock. Even artistically, in some places.

Well, this is just bad on PS4. Not exactly a looker, controls are just bad for the sake of being different (I hear there's a patch coming), the overbearing music when enemies appear, 30fps experience when the art style is hardly rocking the boat, it was a tepid experience quite frankly.

Yeah, Eurogamer has reported that there are a few issues with the controls on the PS4 version but also that they are to be adjusted prior to release. Apparently the XBO version is not suffering with the problem.

Only bit I'd out and out disagree with, I think the art style is fantastic. You're bang on the money re: the rest, even if I obviously liked it more than you did.

Enjoyed the demo - but not enough I think for a full price purchase (and having to go through the same hour again :P)

Keep an eye out for price drops though

I only managed to play the opening credits bit of the demo (toddlers require more attention, sadly) but from what I saw I thought it had a very Deus Ex/Bioshock vibe, which is both good and bad. Good because I like those games, bad because it will never measure up to either.

Opening credit music was good though, liked that.

edit: turns out Mick Gordon (of the DOOM soundtrack fame :datass: ) did the music in this.

Same. I liked it enough to buy it when it goes cheap. And I'm not exactly at a loss for things to play right now.

Started playing this (through VPN) and can confirm that it performs great on the PC. Controls (KB+M) are fab but the F.O.V. needs sorting out. The graphics aren't exactly mind blowing (I'm playing at max settings, 3440x1440 @ a constant 60fps) but are entirety passable.
This game has some lovely Looking Glass, System Shock, Bioshock references throughout so far, so if you are a fan of those games then keep an eye out on this. Of course wait for reviews. F.O.V issues aside I'm really liking what I've played so far!

Deleted this after the awful wrench combat. Got the glue gun but that wasn't too hot either.

There's a new Nvidia driver out too which I'm downloading and guessing is for Prey.

What specs you got for that performance using those settings?

From what I've seen of the game I dont think doors that look like fannys and buttholes would fit the artsyle very well.

i74930k @4.00GHz
16 GB Ram
2x Nvidia 1080 Sli

But that's overkill for this game. People on Neogaf are stating that the recommended specs are absolutely fine for 1080p performance. As for the Bioshock references the one that first come to mind was The Hephaestus “Heffy” wrench. The wrench being your melee weapon in Bioshock as well as the Bioshock level Hephaestus. Perhaps reference was too strong a word. Don't want folks thinking this is an unofficial sequel/prequel to Bioshock or something!

Why on earth would I want to use my gaming mouse in games :dread:

Quit the game, checked file integrity in Steam which found no missing files so nothing to fix but was fine when starting it up again.

I feelike I'm taking crazy pills when I keep hearing people say this game looks good.

I just could not stop seeing stuff that looked out of place or just plain bad in the demo.

The opening sequence with the buildings looks absolutely horrific when you compare it to Shadow fall or Mirrors Edge.

Played about 3 hours worth yesterday and it's good, looks fine to me. Did struggle a bit before getting a shotgun against larger enemies.

Yeah looks terrible.

I'm not really feeling this, I'm finding it quite tough, the horror aspect is cool, but I'm not really a horror fan and the constant jumps or environment moves really get to you after a while. The bigger enemies are right banana splits to fight and I have no idea what I am doing

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but just in case you are, none of the lighting in that first scene is being reflected, or casting any light. There are literal shadows on the floor right in front of the light panels in the room to the left. Yeah the geometry is pretty good, but the lack of decent lighting and general art style of the world makes everything look super flat.

In the second screen shot there is light shining from off screen at the characters face, but no shadow is being cast.
