Can it run on a GeForce 9800GTX+ and i3? :shifty:

The PS4 demo is called Prey Demo: Opening Hour.

And the demo is only available on console at the moment.

The lighting in this game, at least in the prologue, is strawberry floating awful. I was trying figure out why it looked so flat and realised it was because almost nothing has any shading or shadows.

This is one of those games that gives you lots of options, but plays and looks like gooseberry fool.

I'm sure it's better on PC, but aiming on console it really really bad, aim acceleration, noticible input delay, 30fps, different sensitivity on each axis

Was really excited for this but this demo has just killed my hype

Hearing these issues I understand why there isnt a pc demo. It's probably at an even worse state.

I really enjoyed the demo and the games visual style looks good.

Visual style meaning: blocky and missing lighting?

If this game had SOME control options I'd be able to enjoy it, but the aiming (especially) and movement just feels so Janky to me it impedes my enjoyment.

Developers need to stop having unchangeable control schemes with forced aim acceleration. It's absolutely awful and always seems to be in these suedo FPS RPGs that seem more concerned about giving you pointless options than how the game actually FEELS.

If you consider options pointless it's obviously not the game for you.

Sounds like PC would be better platform, twin stick is always playing with potatoes for hands.

Where exactly? This has been getting ripped to shreds from all manner of places. From GAF to Reddit to Twitter, general consensus seems to be it's a bit of a dog.

Generally take the opinions of random people on the internet with a pinch of salt.

People other than randoms I've never heard opinions before from on the internet.

Anyway just played the demo, not exactly sure what those people are having a problem with but I enjoyed it quite a bit. If the rest of the game is like that I can see it getting a fair amount of praise.

Played up to the first NeuroMod, and I like it. That's mainly down to the plot and art style however. The aiming is indeed all over the place and the music, although great, has a habit of going "dun dun duuuun something's happening!" at random. I think it looks... Fine. I don't get the criticism of the lighting at all. Things I did get ;

i) It's stylish as strawberry float.
ii) It is, so far, Bioshock in space. I mean, the gameplay beats are almost identical.

But yes. A general thumbs up from me.

I love the music and I was enjoying the demo up until the monsters showed up. It wasn't particularly satisfying killing them. I'll persevere though to the end of the demo.

Options aren't pointless by themselves, but if they are there just there so they can use 'freedom' and 'choice' as buzz words and don't offer any kind of substance then I feel like they are pointless. Oh wow I can either hack a door or climb through a vent, what an enriching choice. That is certainly worth the sacrafice of the game controlling and looking like you've got your hand up a cow's anus.

It's not though if it is done properly. I played through the first two Crysis games on console with aim assistance off and they controlled beautifully. I'm sure it's much harder to program in all of the aiming assists, but console FPS games aren't exactly new. Even Fallout 4 controlled better than this. And Overwatch, which also doesn't have an ads button to compensate for analogue sticks controls 100x better than this.

The artistic choices in the game are exactly that, artistic choices. Nothing to do with how the game plays.

As for the controls, apparently there is an issue on PS4, but its fixed in the final game (and not present in the Xbox One demo). Like I said personally I didn't think it was a problem at all. Of course I noticed the controls were behaving a bit differently. But the game isn't a twitch shooter so for me it doesn't really matter.

Played some of the demo. Got into the office and now looking around further. Not sure what I think of it. I don't like the combat with the half life crabs or the bigger dude.

Graphics are ok, style is nice. Music is broken with battle music kicking in every few moments.

I'm tempted but it'll be in the sales within 6 weeks.

Wish my image sig would work
